Kell linebacker Brayden Rouse has been to Knoxville countless times. His official visit to Tennessee appears to have been the best one yet and he detailed his visit as he left town.

“This is probably my best Tennessee visit so far and I have been here multiple times,” the linebacker explained. “Just to come down here and keep building those relationships with the coaches and players all weekend was great. Because that’s potentially who you are going to be with.”

Rouse was at Texas last weekend. This weekend was about continuing to build bonds and to discuss his fit in the Tennessee defense.

“Feel like the football piece was huge this go-around. Talking scheme and talking ball,” Rouse said. “Just kind of the fit for me here. Some stuff that I can really do that could separate the defense from some other defenses and really help them out. So, it was a great visit.”

Rouse has a really tight bond with linebackers coach William Inge. Inge has been on him since he got to Tennessee and all of that dialogue has paid off.

“I feel like coach Inge sees me as a human and not just a football player. He is going to coach me hard but also teach me life skills and develop me as a person and a man for outside of football,” the prospect said. “He has coached Dick Butkus award finalists – four of them. He is a really good linebackers coach and knows his stuff. He takes it very serious. He is very intentional when he is recruiting, so I can tell from day one that he was going after me that he actually wanted me. He has been consistent and the while way all the time.”

Now comes the decision and Rouse is working toward getting that closed out as the dead period looms. He feels like then boxes were checked this weekend in terms of what he needed to see.

“My biggest thing coming in here was the football piece. I feel like the visits before were more football based. They were game visits, so you don’t get to talk a lot of ball – going int scheme and all that. It was more base level, but now that we came for the OV, we had more time to really dive into that. Just to see how they see me as a player and where they see me fitting in. Those were my biggest questions and they were answered.

“It is going to be a hard decision. They are all great programs. It is probably the biggest decision an 18-year-old can make at this moment. So, I’ll really start to dive down dee into everything and lay out the pros and cons. I feel like I am coming pretty close to a decision. It is between some stuff that I got to figure out with the family. But, we will figure it out pretty soon.”
