In my humble opinion, cardinal and gold thoughts on what I see, what I hear, and what I think from Los Angeles: The Cotton Bowl: While there is understandably great sadness, pain, and embarrassment in USC’s loss to Utah in the Pac-12 Championship Game in Las Vegas on Friday night, the new CFP No. 10 Trojans found out Sunday morning that they will get another shot at winning 12 games this season and finishing their season on a high note, having been selected to play in the 2023 Cotton Bowl against CFP No. 16 Tulane Green Wave (11-2) on Jan. 2 in AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas (10 a.m. PT/ ESPN). The Cotton Bowl – Part 2: Despite the loss to Utah, in Sunday’s AP Top 25, the Trojans remained in the Top 10, having slid from No. 4 to No. 8 behind Utah, the new AP No. 7 in the country. Certainly, it could have been potentially worse, but the Trojans also finished No. 10 in the College Football Playoff poll. So, there should be a positive taken from Friday’s negative. With a win over Tulane, the Trojans will finish the season in everybody's Top 10.
