Arizona tight end Keyan Burnett has entered the transfer portal, On3 has learned. He spent two seasons with the Wildcats, making 22 appearances and three starts.

In the 2023 campaign, Burnett tallied three receptions for 34 yards. During his first year at Arizona, Burnett hauled in three catches for 10 yards.

Standing at 6-foot-6, 245 pounds, Burnett boasts professional size. Although the California native failed to breakout during his sophomore season, he claimed the game is gradually coming to him.

“I would say everything is just slowed down a bit for sure,” Burnett said last year. “Getting a basic understanding of why I am doing things instead of what I am actually doing. I wouldn’t say it was overwhelming last season, but I took a lot of lumps and there were a lot of learning lessons last year.”

Keyan Burnett played high school football at Servite (Calif.), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 201 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Arizona is seeing plenty of transfer movement after Jedd Fisch’s departure

Arizona has seen 17 players enter the transfer portal so far this cycle, although that number could go up in the next couple weeks. Wildcats players now have a 30-day window to enter the portal after the departure of Jedd Fisch, who left to take over for Kalen DeBoer at Washington. Seven of those entries came just this week as the coaching change took place.

Arizona ultimately moved to hire San Jose State’s Brent Brennan to replace Fisch. Brennan was once a graduate assistant with the Wildcats and was a candidate for the opening the last time around following the departure of Kevin Sumlin. Now, he’ll get his shot after six years with San Jose State, where he amassed a 34-48 record.

“I am so blessed and excited to come back to the University of Arizona,” Brennan said in a statement. “This incredible university is special to my family and I as it’s where I started as a coach as part Coach Tomey’s legacy. I can’t wait to meet the players, families, fans, alumni and supporters and build on the success the players and staff have started. Bear Down and Go Cats!”
