Former Arizona Wildcats running back Jonah Coleman is following Jedd Fisch to Washington, committing to transfer to the Huskies. He spent the past two seasons playing in Tucson will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Coleman appeared in 25 games over the past two seasons. He made an immediate impact as a true freshman in 2022 to finish third on the team with 372 yards and four touchdowns.

This past season, Coleman took another leap forward to earn All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention. He finished as the team’s leading rusher with 871 yards and five touchdowns and was also heavily involved in the passing game with 25 catches for 283 yards and a touchdown.

As a recruit, Coleman was a three-star prospect out of Lincoln High School in Stockton, California. He ranked as the No. 520 overall player and No. 39 running back in the 2022 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Jonah Coleman will be looking to expand upon his success under Fisch at Arizona, and help Washington transition to the Big Ten.

More on Washington’s transfer portal situation

Jonah Coleman is the 10th player to join Washington through the transfer portal this offseason. He is also the third Arizona player to follow Fisch to Seattle, joining cornerback Jordan Shaw and quarterback Demond Williams Jr.

The Huskies have also seen 23 players enter the transfer portal during the fall window. That ranks them No. 68 overall and last in the Big Ten according to On3’s Transfer Portal Team Rankings.

Former Arizona State edge rusher BJ Green II is the highest-rated transfer addition for Washington, coming in at No. 35 overall in On3’s Transfer Portal Player Rankings. He finished this past season with 39 tackles (11.5 for loss), six sacks and a forced fumble.

Washington is coming off of a 14-1 season that ended with a trip to and eventual loss in the national championship. Fisch is set to replace Kalen DeBoer, who left to become the head coach at Alabama.

The Huskies still have a long way to go to make up for their losses in the transfer portal, including cornerback Jabbar Muhammad and offensive lineman Parker Brailsford. However, there is belief that more players could soon follow Fisch from Arizona, and he’ll certainly explore other options as well.
