Former Jacksonville State linebacker Larry Worth III will transfer to play for Arkansas in 2024, he announced Sunday via X. He chose the Razorbacks over Minnesota.

Worth appeared in all 13 games this past season to finish with 63 tackles (six for loss), three sacks, one forced fumble and one interception. He’ll have two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Worth recorded a career-high 12 tackles and one sack in the New Orleans Bowl vs. Louisiana this past season. Standing 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds, he should provide some extra depth for Arkansas as they aim to improve a defense that finished 12th in the SEC in points allowed.

Worth played high school football at Baldwin High in Jacksonville, Florida. He was unranked in the 2022 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Larry Worth is the second transfer linebacker that Arkansas has brought in this offseason along with Xavian Sorey out of Georgia. The Razorbacks are relatively young at the position with second-year players Brad Spence and Carson Dean among others who should compete for time.

Overall, Arkansas has lost 30 players to the transfer portal while bringing in 14. That ranks it No. 30 overall and No. 8 in the SEC according to On3’s Transfer Portal Team Rankings.

The Razorbacks are coming off of a 4-8 finish this past season as they prepare to enter their fifth year under coach Sam Pittman. They’ll hope to make it back to a bowl game in 2024, and Worth will certainly figure to be a part of their plans on defense.

Former Florida State RB Rodney Hill commits to Arkansas

Former Florida State running back Rodney Hill has committed to Arkansas, per On3’s Pete Nakos. He spent the past two seasons with the Seminoles.

Hill has had a tumultuous offseason. He initially entered the transfer portal on Dec. 13. He committed to Florida A&M, decommitted from the Rattlers, committed to Miami, rejoined Florida A&M and then opted to re-enter the portal.

Now, he’s seemingly found a home in Fayetteville. Hill appeared in 16 games with FSU the last two seasons, including a dozen last fall as a redshirt freshman. In total, he has rushed for 334 yards and a pair of scores on 77 career carries.

In 2023, Hill rushed 50 times for 190 yards and a touchdown. He tallied the fourth-most carries for the Seminoles and the third-most rushing yards. He also caught five passes for 83 yards, which averaged out to one of the best numbers on the team at 16.6 yards per reception.
