The Arkansas Razorbacks have lost a likely offensive contributor for the upcoming 2024 season just as the team wraps up its spring practice. On Saturday, running back Isaiah Augustave took to social media to announce he plans on entering the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Augustave did so with this message attached.

“First and foremost I want to thank coach Pittman and the rest of the coaching staff for blessing me with the opportunity to play the game I love. Thank you to all my teammates, I’m very grateful for the time I’ve spent with you all,” said Augustave via X.

“After long conversations with my family, I would like to announce that I am officially entering my name into the transfer portal with three years of eligibility left. It’s time to do what’s best for me.”

“Thank you, Hog Nation!”

Augustave was a top 300 recruit in the 2023 recruiting class and was ranked the No. 6 running back prospect in the country coming out of high school. The highly touted recruit had his choice of programs when deliberating where to begin his collegiate career. Augustave had the likes of Kentucky, Louisville, Oklahoma State, Tennessee, and the top program in his home state last season, Florida State, all vying for his services before he ultimately chose Arkansas. Now, with Augustave back on the market, expect those programs and then some to reach back out to the highly touted 2023 recruit and attempt to bring him into their fold.

As a true freshman at Arkansas last season, Augustave played in 11 games and made one start. He was accredited with 35 carries for 202 yards and 1 rushing touchdown. He also had three receptions for seven yards. Arguably, Augustave’s best performance from the 2023 season came in Arkansas’ second-to-last game against FIU. There, the freshman put on a show with 14 carries for 101 yards, averaging 7.2 yards per carry.

Augustave played high school football at Naples High School in Naples, FL, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 297 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
