Rutgers to host Minnesota quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis
Minnesota transfer quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis will be visiting Rutgers this weekend, a source tells On3.
The former four-star recruit emerged as the starter this year in Minnesota. He’s thrown for 2,784 career yards, 17 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. Kaliakmanis announced his decision to enter the transfer portal last month.
The most appealing part of his visit to Piscataway will be visiting with Rutgers offensive coordinator Kirk Ciarrocca, who coached Kaliakmanis at Minnesota. Gavin Wimsatt is expected to return for the 2024 season, but adding Kaliakmanis would add a quarterback with experience to the roster and someone who could push Wimsatt.
