Boston College Eagles point guard Jaeden Zackery is committing to transfer to the Clemson Tigers, according to a report by Austin Hannon. On3’s Matt Connolly later confirmed Zackery’s commitment.

Jaeden Zackery planned to announce his transfer decision at 12:00 p.m. EST on Sunday while appearing on The Field of 68.

During his three seasons at Boston College, Jaeden Zackery played in 102 games and earned 100 starts. He averaged 33.8 minutes played per game during that time. On top of that, he also averaged 10.8 points with 3.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game while with the Eagles. He shot 45.5 percent from the field and 40.5 percent from three-point range while at Boston College.

Jaeden Zackery came to Boston College as a four-star recruit in the Class of 2020. Prior to Boston College, he played at Chipola College in Marianna, Florida.

The Eagles themselves have struggled with consistency over the last three seasons. Head coach Earl Grant took over for the 2021-22 season and, since then, Boston College has a 49-53 record overall and a record of 23-37 in ACC play. However, the team did win 20 games and go to the NIT in the 2023-24 season.

Now, Jaeden Zackery will be joining the Clemson Tigers. This past season was a phenomenal one for the Tigers, winning 24 games before going on a deep run in the NCAA Tournament to the Elite Eight.

To keep up with the latest players on the move, check out On3’s Transfer Portal wire.

Clemson and the Transfer Portal

The Transfer Portal opened on March 18th for men’s college basketball. That was an awkward time for a team like Clemson that was still alive in the NCAA Tournament, and then had to both retain players and evaluate the roster and available players at that time.

To this point, three Clemson players have entered the Transfer Portal. That includes Joshua Beadle, Jack Clark, and RJ Godfrey. Interestingly, Beadle is a guard who is committed to transfer to Boston College, the opposite move that Jaeden Zackery is making.

Beyond Jaeden Zackery, it does look like Clemson and head coach Brad Brownell are going to continue to make moves in the Transfer Portal. Center Viktor Lakhin committed to come to Clemson as a Transfer to Cincinnati. So, now the question becomes whether or not the Tigers are done in the Transfer Portal or if they’re going to continue to look to add through it moving forward.
