Per On3’s Pete Nakos, BYU C Aly Khalifa has entered his name into the transfer portal.

Khalifa has also done so with a designation of a ‘do not contact’ tag.

This was Khalifa’s first year with the Cougars are starting his career at Charlotte.

Over 94 appearances, including 90 starts, with the 49ers and Cougars, Khalifa has posted 8.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.4 assists while shooting 47% from the field.

In his 29 outings in Provo, Khalifa averaged 5.7 points, four assists, and 3.7 rebounds. His percentages took a significant dip, though, at 38.6% from the field and 31.5 % from three.

Khalifa is a product of the NBA Global Academy in Australia as a member of the 2020 class. He did so as a native of Alexandria, Egypt.

With a do not contact tag, the thought might be that he could be following his former coach, Mark Pope, to his new job. Pope officially became the head coach at Kentucky, his alma mater, on Friday. However, it could also mean Khalifa already has another idea of where he is headed within the transfer portal.

Khalifa is the second Cougar to hit the portal as of Friday. Dallin Hall entered his name in as well, even if he did without the use of the do not contact tag at this point.
