DePaul forward Mac Etienne is searching for a new college basketball home for the second time in his collegiate career. On Tuesday, the New York City, NY native entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

Etienne did not start his collegiate career at DePaul. He was originally a recruit of the UCLA Bruins and their head coach, Mick Cronin. However, after three years at UCLA and seeing very little action on the court, he elected to hop into the NCAA transfer portal for the first time in his career.

This past season at DePaul, Etienne played in just 22 games and did not register a single start. He averaged 1.6 points, 2.5 rebounds, and .5 assists in his average of 8.1 minutes of action per contest.

There was plenty of hype surrounding Etienne out of high school as he was a bonafide top 100 recruit, with some recruiting sites listing him in their top 50 in the 2020 recruiting class. The six foot 10 center showed promise early on at UCLA, even playing in a few of their tournament games as a freshman. Unfortunately, an ACL injury in the following season would derail his career, causing a significant setback. After missing the entirety of the 2021-22 season, Etienne attempt to give it one more go at UCLA before deciding to transfer

Etienne played high school basketball at Suffield Academy in Wolfeboro, NH, where he was a four-star prospect. According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, he was the No. 93 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, and the 11th-best center recruit in the class.

UCLA forward Ilane Fibleuil enters NCAA transfer portal

Current UCLA forward Ilane Fibleuil has also entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. Fibleuil spent just one season with the program but will now be looking to continue his college career elsewhere.

Despite playing in 23 games as a true freshman, Fibleuil did not make too big of an impact. He averaged 1.0 points and 1.5 rebounds. Fibleuil played 10 minutes or more in just seven of those appearances, with his season-high being 25 minutes against Lafayette.

The top-scoring performance from Fibleuil came during the regular season loss to Gonzaga, knocking down two shots from the field and two free throws to finish with six points. Ironically, the Bulldogs were the only other reported offer Fibleuil got from the college basketball world.
