7-foot-1 center Vladislav Goldin is transferring away from Florida Atlantic, On3 has learned.

Goldin averaged career-highs this past season, scoring 15.7 points to go with 6.9 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game. He was a part of the Owls’ Final Four run during the 2022-23 season, most notably logging a 14-point, 12-rebound double-double in the 79-76 win over Kansas State in the Elite 8.

As a redshirt freshman, he made an immediate impact on FAU. Goldin led the team in blocks (39) and field goal percentage (55%) and was second in rebounding (4.9). He eventually started 106 of the 107 games he played for FAU over a three-year span. Before that, the Russian big man began his career at Temple, where he appeared in 10 games during his true freshman season.

He was a four-star prospect coming out of the high school ranks, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.

Goldin is the second player from the Owls’ Final Four run in 2023 to hit the portal, as teammate Nick Boyd also announced his intentions to transfer away from Florida Atlantic. He averaged 9.3 points per game this season.

Boyd plans to enter NCAA transfer portal

FAU guard Nick Boyd intends to enter the NCAA transfer portal, he announced via social media on Monday afternoon. A three-year player for the program, Boyd is not ruling out a return to Boca Raton despite exploring his options.

“I want to thank God for the opportunity to play at FAU and the incredible people I’ve met along the way,” Boyd said in a statement. “The past three seasons have been amazing and have taught me a lot. To the coaching staff, I want to thank you guys for the support and all of the memories. To my teammates, we will have a brotherhood for life. To the fans, you helped us create lifelong memories that I will cherish forever. Lastly to my family, I want to thank you guys for everything! I love you guys.

“What that being said I’ve decided to enter the transfer portal with two years of eligibility remaining and with consideration of returning to FAU.”
