Why Florida State head coach Mike Norvell and Washington head coach Kalen DeBoer make the most sense for Alabama

Florida State will have two of the top available uncommitted transfer portal prospects on campus this weekend.

A source confirmed to On3 that Alabama transfer running back Roydell Williams and Florida transfer offensive lineman Richie Leonard will be in Tallahassee this weekend. A top-10 running back in the 2020 class, Williams has played in 45 career games rushing for more than 1,100 yards. He tallied 111 carries this season, finishing with a career-high 560 yards with five touchdowns.

Landing Leonard would be a crucial pickup for the Seminoles, who have prioritized the line of scrimmage in the transfer portal. The Florida transfer has appeared in 31 games over the past three years with 14 starts.

Florida State has already landed a running back in the portal with Indiana’s Jaylin Lucas, who committed earlier this week. But with Trey Benson off to the NFL, adding two portal tailbacks could be crucial for the Seminoles.

Florida State also scored a big win earlier this week when linebacker DJ Lundy withdrew from the transfer portal and decommitted from Colorado. He became a key player on the Seminoles’ defense this past season, tallying 54 tackles with six tackles for loss and two sacks.
