Former Clemson tight end Sage Ennis will soon be playing for a familiar coach. Ennis has committed to Virginia, he announced on Monday.

He had previously committed to FAMU after entering the transfer portal last month but decommitted on Sunday.

Now Sage Ennis will be playing for former Clemson tight ends coach and offensive coordinator Tony Elliott, who is the head coach at Virginia.

Ennis appeared in 10 games this season, while battling injuries. He made one start and caught three passes for 52 yards.

Ennis signed with Clemson as a three-star recruit and the No. 612 overall player in the country for the class of 2020, according to the On3 Industry rankings.

During his time at Clemson, Ennis appeared in 41 games, making two starts. He caught six passes for 77 yards.

He left a Clemson team in search of playing time. The Tigers return starting tight end Jake Briningstool for the 2024 season.

Ennis is joining a Virginia team that went 3-9 this past season in Year 2 under Tony Elliott.
