Former Louisville running back Gregory Desrosiers is back in the transfer portal. Desrosiers is in the portal once again after spending the past two seasons at UMass, On3 has learned.

He made plays on offense and special teams in 2023 for the Minutemen, earning first-team College Football Network All-Independent Team honors on offense and special teams.

Gregory Desrosiers signed with Louisville for the class of 2020. He appeared in four games for the Cardinals his first season there and appeared in three games for the Cardinals in 2021.

After that, Gregory Desrosiers entered the transfer portal, before ending up at Massachusetts.

UMass running back Kay’Ron Lynch-Adams plans to enter transfer portal

UMass running back Gregory Desrosiers became the second Minutemen running back to enter the transfer portal in a 24-hour period, joining Kay’Ron Lynch-Adams.

On3’s Pete Nakos reported on Thursday that Kay’Ron Lynch-Adams was entering the portal.

Lynch-Adams started his career at Rutgers, before spending three seasons at UMass. He has one year of eligibility remaining.

In his three years at UMass, the 5-foot-10, 205-pound running back rushed for 1,568 yards and 14 touchdowns. This past season he ran for 1,157 yards and 12 scores, becoming just the second UMass running back to achieve 1,000-plus yards rushing in a season in the FBS era. A Phil Steele All-Independent Team selection, he averaged 4.9 yards per carry.

“A year ago [Lynch-Adams] was banged up, and we didn’t get the best that he had to offer,” UMass head coach Don Brown said this past season. “This year we’re getting the best out of Kay’Ron. He’s playing at a high level. He’s not the biggest guy in the world but he just finds a way to gain yards and make guys miss. He’s gaining a lot of yards after contact and he’s a great kid, too.”
