North Carolina offensive lineman Diego Pounds has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned.

Pounds has spent all three years of his college career with the Tar Heels, emerging as a key player on the offensive line this past season.

The left tackle started all 13 for the Tar Heels in the 2023 season, protecting the blind side of star quarterback Drake Maye. But now the 6-foot-5.5, 330-pound offensive lineman will look for a new quarterback to protect and a new program to call home for the 2024 season.

Pounds played high school football at Raleigh (NC) Millbrook, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 516 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
