Jacoby Jones’ decision is another blow for the Bobcats, after earlier this offseason, after his commitment to Ohio following entering the NCAA transfer portal earlier this offseason, former Oklahoma State quarterback Gunnar Gundy has officially re-entered the transfer portal.

Gundy, the son of Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy, finds himself back in the transfer portal after committing to play with the Bobcats on January 5 after initially entering the transfer portal in December.

Gundy walked on at Oklahoma State ahead of the 2021 season, redshirting in his freshman year where he saw game action at the end of a blowout win over TCU.

He made four game appearances apiece in the 2022 and 2023 season, completing 19 of 39 pass attempts for 247 yards, three touchdowns, and four interceptions, adding 19 rush attempts for 70 yards to his stat line. In 2023 Gundy threw for a touchdown pass against Arizona State and rushed for a score on a designed quarterback run versus Texas A&M in the Texas Bowl to extend the Cowboys’ second half lead.

Gundy played high school football at Stillwater High School (OK), where he was an unrated, unranked prospect in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. But according to Oklahoma State’s website, the walk-on quarterback had multiple scholarship offers to play at the FBS level out of high school
