Former Oregon Ducks linebacker Jake Shipley is headed south to the state of Texas. On Monday, it was revealed that Shipley would be landing in the Dallas Fort Worth area after committing to play for the North Texas Mean Green.

Shipley has spent four seasons at Oregon. He was initially recruited as a defensive lineman by former Ducks head coach Mario Cristobal. However, with the arrival of current head coach Dan Lanning in Eugene, OR, Shipley was moved to linebacker. There, he would play in a total of 24 games for Oregon over the past two seasons, recording 15 total tackles, six solo, and 1.5 tackles for loss.

Shipley played high school football at Shadow Hills High in Indio, CA, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 970 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
