Pittsburgh quarterback Christian Veilleux plans to enter the transfer portal, he announced Tuesday morning on Twitter.

Veilleux played in seven games for the Panthers last season, making five starts. Prior to coming to Pittsburgh, he started his career at Penn State.

“I would like to thank the University of Pittsburgh, as well as coach Narduzzi, Coach Cignetti, and coach Bell. I had a great time here in Pittsburgh,” Christian Veilleux posted on Twitter. “I will be entering the transfer portal with 2 years of eligibility.”

Veilleux is entering the portal as a grad transfer.

During two seasons with the Nittany Lions, he appeared in five games, completing 23 of 35 passes for 282 yards and three touchdowns. He then entered the transfer portal.

From Penn State, Christian Veilleux went to Pittsburgh. He completed 94-of-184 passes for 1,179 yards and seven touchdowns, with eight interceptions last season.

Veilleux originally signed with Penn State as a three-star prospect and the No. 35 quarterback in the country in the class of 2021, according to the On3 Industry rankings.

While Christian Veilleux has had an up-and-down college career thus far, he did help the Panthers to an upset win over No. 17 Louisville last season, passing for 200 yards and two scores in a 38-21 victory.

Pittsburgh Panthers EDGE Dayon Hayes plans to enter NCAA Transfer Portal

Christian Veilleux wasn’t the only Pitt player to announce plans to enter the transfer portal over the past 24 hours.

On3’s Hayes Fawcett revealed on Monday that Pitt EDGE Dayon Hayes plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Hayes, who just concluded his senior year with the Panthers, put together an impressive 2023 campaign. The 6-foot-3 Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native played in 12 games last season, recording 11 starts. He had his best statistical year yet with the Panthers, recording 45 total tackles, 25 solo, 10.5 tackles for loss and 4 sacks.

Hayes is leaving on a high note with some respectable career numbers. As a Panther, he has 81 total tackles, 44 solo stops, 25.5 tackles for loss, and 12 sacks over a 39-game span.

Hayes played high school football at Westinghouse High School in Pittsburgh. He was listed as a four-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting class with a nearly 91 grade, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Hayes was the nation’s No. 266 recruit, ranked 33 among defensive linemen, and was the third-best player to come out of the state of Pennsylvania in his class.
