LSU safety Sage Ryan plans to enter the transfer portal, he announced on Friday on social media.

A former four-star recruit, the Lafayette, Louisiana, native had 35 total tackles, including 3.5 tackles for loss with three pass breakups this season. A top-40 recruit in the class of 2021, the 5-foot-11, 193-pound safety forced two fumbles a year ago.

He played in 29 career games during his career at LSU. It’s the second loss to the portal for the LSU secondary Laterrance Welch, who committed to Arizona State earlier this week. Sage Ryan picked the Tigers over Alabama coming out of high school.
