The Seton Hall Pirates finished the 2023-24 season as NIT champions. At least one member of that championship-winning team is looking to cash in on that success. On Tuesday, it was revealed that Seton Hall wing Dre Davis plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to Jeff Borzello.

“Seton Hall senior Dre Davis plans to enter the transfer portal, sources told ESPN. Averaged 15.0 points and 5.9 rebounds this season. [He] Was terrific in the Pirates’ run to an NIT title, scoring 18 points in the championship game win over Indiana State. Signing with @YMAPAAsports,” wrote Borzello via X.

Davis played high school basketball at Lawrence Central High in Indianapolis, IN, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 122 overall recruit in the 2019 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Davis wrapped up his second season at Seton Hall after spending the first two years of his collegiate career with the Louisville Cardinals. At Louisville he played in 50 games with 40 starts and averaged 23.6 minutes of floor time over a two-year span. Davis left the Cardinals averaging 7.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and .9 assist per contest.

In his first season at Seton Hall, Davis primarily came off of the bench playing in 23 games and recording just one start in the 2022-23 season. He averaged just under 19 minutes on the floor in his junior season (18.8) and averaged 9.6 points to go along with 3.3 rebounds.

However last year, the senior wing saw an increase in his role with the Pirates. It was then that Davis was able to truly showcase his abilities on the court averaging 15.0 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 0.9 steals while shooting nearly 50 percent from the field (49.2) and 35 percent from beyond the arc. Davis also started in 36 of the 37 games he played in while averaging 32.9 minutes on the floor per game.
