UCF quarterback Timmy McClain plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, On3’s Pete Nakos confirms.

McClain played one season for the Knights, throwing for 1,065 yards, nine touchdowns and three interceptions during the 2023 season. Before that, he started for the USF Bulls in 2021 and did not play during the 2022 season, utilizing his redshirt the season following his transfer.

He’s thrown for 2,953 career yards and 14 touchdowns to go along with 342 rushing yards and five additional touchdowns.

Before college, McClain played his high school football at Seminole (FL) High School where he was a three-star recruit. He was also the No. 66 rated quarterback in his class, per the On3 Industry Rankings, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. Aside from UCF and USF, he was recruited by UT Martin and UAB out of high school.

As a four-year varsity starter in high school, McClain passed for 6,351 yards and 68 touchdowns completing 64 percent of his passes while running for 940 yards and 17 touchdowns. He helped lead his team to an undefeated season and a Class 8A state championship and compiled a 40-5 record during his career.

McClain’s strongest collegiate performances date back to his lone season with the Bulls. He led USF to a 38-17 win over FAMU during his first career start in 2021, leading the offense to a 404-yard total on the night.

Later in the season, he passed for 289 yards on 22 of 46 attempts with four touchdowns, including two on the ground in a loss to Houston. He ended the season with a team-high 1,888 passing yards before leaving for UCF in the offseason.

UCF CB Jarvis Ware enters NCAA Transfer Portal

UCF cornerback Jarvis Ware officially entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, On3’s Pete Nakos reported. He started his career with the Missouri Tigers. In 2022, he racked up 41 total tackles with the Knights.

He appeared in 28 games as a defensive back at Missouri. Ware snatched his first career interception at Florida in 2020, taking it 59 yards for a touchdown. As a sophomore, Ware had 33 tackles his sophomore year, taking over one of the Tigers’ two cornerback slots. In the 2018-2019 season at Mizzou, he also made first year SEC Academic Honor Roll.

He played his high school football at Wekiva High School (Apopka, Florida), where the defense allowed just 8.6 points per game, going 10-1 and earning a spot in the Class 8A state playoffs in 2017. As a senior in high school, he snatched four interceptions, returning two for touchdowns. When he chose Missouri, Ware chose them over offers from Oregon, South Florida, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, and Central Florida, among many others.
