This is a big recruiting weekend for Deion Sanders and Colorado. The Buffaloes have gotten off to a hot start.

Colorado has landed a commitment from UNLV transfer tight end Charlie Williams.

Williams shared the news on Twitter on Friday afternoon.

Williams committed to Colorado after announcing on April 14 that he would be transferring. He joined the UNLV program ahead of the spring and did not play in a game for the Rebels.

Here is what the former IMG Academy tight end said about his decision to transfer:

“I’d like to thank coach Odom, coach Longshore, my teammates and all the coaches at UNLV for the past year and a half.

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of something great.

With that said, I have decided to enter my name into the transfer portal with four years of eligibility remaining.”

It didn’t take him long to find a new home as now Charlie Williams is off to Colorado.

Colorado set to host Texas transfer Payton Kirkland, Ohio’s Rayyan Buell on visit

As mentioned, this is a huge weekend for Colorado. The Buffaloes are bringing in several important players, with two of those being Texas transfer Payton Kirkland and Ohio’s Rayyan Buell.

Colorado is looking to improve on the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball in 2024. Deion Sanders and his staff are turning to the transfer portal to do just that.

Starting with Payton Kirkland, the Orlando, Florida native was rated as a three-star prospect and the No. 30 offensive tackle in the country coming out of high school, according to the On3 Industry rankings.

Kirkland held offers from several of the top programs in the country coming out of high school, including in-state schools MiamiFlorida and Florida State.

Kirkland did not appear in a game last season as the Longhorns finished 12-2 (8-1), winning the Big 12 and advancing to the College Football Playoff. He would be a big pick up for Coach Prime and Colorado.

Moving on to Rayyan Buell, he recorded 30 tackles, including 12.5 tackles for loss last season.

Prior to suiting up for the Bobcats, he had been a star at Northwest Mississippi Community College, playing there as a freshman in 2020 and a sophomore in 2021.

Buell was named third-team All-MAC in 2023.
