With the extended transfer portal window open for Washington Husky players following the departure of former head coach Kalen DeBoer, there is still time for players to exit the program and find new homes elsewhere. And that is just what offensive lineman Jalen Klemm intends to do.

On Tuesday, On3 learned that Klemm has decided to exit the program, entering into the NCAA Transfer Portal.

His name should ring a bell to fans of the New England Patriots and Green Bay Packers. His father, a former NFL offensive lineman for the New England Patriots and the Green Bay Packers, Adrian Klemm, is the current offensive line coach for the Patriots.

Klemm played high school football at Pine-Richland High in Gibsonia, PA, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 811 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

The most recent transfer news is yet another punch to the gut to the Washington Huskies football program. Their current On3 transfer portal rankings for the 2024 season are dead last in the Big Ten conference, with an index score of -35. This offseason, the Huskies have acquired 11 players from the portal while losing 24. Only time will tell if this trend will have a significant impact on their ability to compete for a second straight chance to win a national championship in the College Football Playoff.

Washington quarterback Alex Johnson re-enters NCAA transfer portal

Washington quarterback Alex Johnson has had second thoughts about withdrawing from the NCAA transfer portal, putting his name back into the transfer portal on Tuesday, On3 has learned.

That news comes just two days after Johnson withdrew from the portal.

Johnson has obviously had plenty to think about in recent weeks, with the turnover in coaching at Washington and the subsequent musical chairs act a handful of quarterbacks have engaged in complicating matters.

A senior quarterback, Johnson enrolled at Washington in 2023 after spending the 2021 and 2022 seasons at Santa Barbara City College. He did not record any statistics in 2023.

Johnson is one of a handful of quarterbacks that has at least considered a move following the coaching changes at Washington.
