Dante Cephas, a wide receiver that just finished his first and only season at Penn State, is headed to Manhattan after committing to Kansas State out of the transfer portal. K-State Online reported the news.

Cephas spent the first four seasons of his collegiate career at Kent State before joining the Nittany Lions in 2023.

In five seasons, Cephas caught 167 passes for nearly 2,400 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns.

In 2021, Cephas led the Golden Flashes in receiving with career-best numbers of 82 catches for 1,240 yards and nine touchdowns.

Then, in his lone campaign in University Park, he finished with 22 receptions for 246 yards and two scores. Most of that came in a 51-15 win over Maryland where he finished with season-highs of six catches for 53 yards and both of his scores.

Cephas played high school football at Penn Hills (PA) where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 2,353 overall recruit in the 2019 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He finished as the No. 325 WR in his class and as a Top-50 player out of the state of Pennsylvania.

Cephas is the latest addition for Kansas State in the portal this cycle as one of six players to leave the Nittany Lions. He will join as the fourth addition out of the portal alongside IOL Easton Kitley (North Dakota), DL Travis Bates (Austin Peay), and S Jordan Riley-Scott (Ball State).

With nine of the Wildcats’ 15 transfers being offensive players, including four pass catchers, Cephas should play a role in the pass game for QB Avery Johnson.
