NFL team expected to hire Big Ten chief of staff Adam Neuman

The Baltimore Ravens are expected to hire Big Ten chief of staff for strategy and operations Adam Neuman as chief of staff and special advisor to the president, a source tells On3.

Neuman, who has also been deputy general counsel for the Big Ten, has been at the Big Ten since 2020. He made the move after Kevin Warren was hired as Big Ten commissioner.

Neuman, a Baltimore native, has helped lead the Big Ten’s internal and external operations, which includes dealing with the finance, legal and athletic departments of all Big Ten schools. He was also involved in the process of the Big Ten adding USC and UCLA as well as in the conference’s record-breaking media rights deal.

Before the Big Ten, Neuman worked in New York as a corporate associate with law firm Simpson Thacher and Bartlett LLP.

He received a law degree from Penn in 2018. While in law school, he served as a legal intern for the Minnesota Vikings, which is where he first met Warren, who was then the Vikings’ chief operating officer.

Warren left the Big Ten to become the president and CEO of the Chicago Bears in January.

The Ravens, meanwhile, have been to the NFL playoffs four of the last five seasons and are positioned to be one of the better teams in the AFC this year, led by head coach John Harbaugh and quarterback Lamar Jackson.

With Jackson sidelined for most of the final six games last season, Baltimore finished 10-7 and lost to the Cincinnati Bengals in the wild card round of the NFL playoffs.
