That school does whatever it takes to win. If what is alleged is true, and I've heard it from different sources (lacrosse is good that way- info is easy to come by), that kid wouldn't ever touch another RU field. Certainly not before a legal process plays out.

Crazy what that school will do to try and win. The only problem? The entire team was going to revolt if he showed up at practice. Dysfunction city. Get your popcorn.

If the team took a stand against reinstating a teammate who had committed a serious crime, I think we have to tip our hat to them. (unless I am missing something here.)

Yea, sounds like the team has more conviction than the athletic department or staff.

Yeah, I have no idea what this young man has done, but it I salute the other players who would do that...

Tip of the hat to the Syracuse players for having some moral character. Something their mentors don't

Some pretty big accusations on twitter. Since they are rumors only I am not going to share them. But if they are true, the captains did the right thing.

Why can’t you share a rumor? Just link the tweet it’s certainly not on you.

Unless he knows something about who tweeted and their credibility that's a really bad idea. Anyone has the ability to post pure Grade A crap, and we should not facilitate the spreading of ********.

lol okay...because that’s not done on message boards, these included, ALL the time.

Just because it's done doesn't make it right

And let me add, if it involves criminal allegations (I do not know if it does or not) there would be legal implications if they were to prove it was false and they knew it.

Maybe - but doubtful - for the person who tweeted but not for linking a tweet to a message board. My Lord.

At this point it’s all over the web, not to mention all over the lacrosse community. No sense in not discussing. The supposed allegation is he physically assaulted his girlfriend.

Purely hypothetical but my guess is there was an allegation or incident of some kind, but the authorities and/or the girl don’t want to press charges, giving cover for the department and staff to reinstate him without further investigation. The team, to their credit, is taking a huge stand. I have more respect for the kids in that program than I do the coaches or administration.

I will also add I’m a believer in due process and rule of law. As such, he’s innocent until proven guilty.

Going to be interesting to watch. Does it ruin the team or galvanize them? That program man, there is always stuff swirling around it. It’s always been known as a bit lawless there. I guess it’s their thing. Who can forget one of their players driving the coach’s car and getting in an accident? Their next coach needs to be a disciplinarian. Pressler type. The DNA of that program needs a complete overhaul.

Loyola must be breathing a sigh of relief.

Your last sentence is very accurate based on the little I have heard...

Also agree on your due process comment...let it play out

If Cuse loses out their last game and doesn't make the NCAA or loses in the 1st Round of the NCAA, it will be interesting to see if Desko get's pushed out because of how he handled this.

I can't imagine he handled this alone. You'd think whoever their AD is was the one signing off on it.

Seems like a sticky situation. Without law enforcement involved, and I haven't seen any indication they are, what can ultimately done? Having the team take a stand is the ultimate arbiter.

Syracuse.com, at least what I can see being limited by the paywall, pretty much confirms that except that the DA is still investigating. Desko just had his press conference and said the decision to reinstate was his but that Scanlon is not travelling to ND for this weeks game. Sound like there is still resistance on the players part.

I doubt he plays in a Syracuse uniform again. Or likely any other. The social media mob is revving the engines.

Syracuse couldn’t have handled more wrong.

People that don't have blinders on will see right through the scheduling of Robert Morris...kind of soft, but not surprising...

On a side note, don't be too worked up about Georgetown if the beat Loyola tonight...Loyola has been riddled with injuries and out of synch all year...a win at Ridley won't carry as much value as it would in normal years...I know it could have seeding implications, etc...a month ago I would have picked the Hounds as I'm not sold on GTown...

One of Hounds starting attackmen was on the operating table this morning, and one of their other young stars is not playing due to a core injury, they also lost one of their best cover close defenders...Loyola is limping to the finish line so to speak

While I understand their reaction and reasoning, it's a shame most of the Cornell team is sitting out the semester. Would have been interesting to see if the 'Cuse would have accepted a legitimate test.

This can't be good. What does suspended, reinstated, but not with the team mean exactly? What a disaster.

6-4 Georgetown at halftime. Your son got a very positive mention from the broadcast crew, who (like the top B1G crew) put ESPN to shame. Slippery conditions have made for a sloppy game.

Loyola 11 - Georgetown 9 final

Congrats Golfer
I'm happy for those Loyola kids...it's been a tough year for that team...but they played hard and gritty tonight missing a few starters...love it!

And like a few on this board, we've talked about how Georgetown hasn't played many tough games...tonight they got exposed a bit....a lot actually

The Big Ten from top to bottom is much better than the big east...

Hounds have now entered the conversation for real.

Denver. I ask again. Who has Denver and Georgetown beat?

Well the ESPN party line is that the Big East is second only to the ACC in top to bottom talent. Funny, we have the ultimate of impartial analysts who says that's BS, but he doesn't own a broadcast network.
