Looks like several Big 10 schools were recruited him. I have an odd question that may have been talked about before but I don't recall. I am seeing players football pants not covering their knees anymore. Varies by position but they don't have knee pads protecting their knees anymore. I think that is sort of dumb but I am old school. Anyone have a current players perspective on not wearing knee pads and having the pants cover your knees anymore?

I could be (and am likely) wrong, but back in the old days football fields were crap. Knee pads were a necessity to keep rocks from gashing you or to keep old style artificial turf from taking off a couple layers of skin. Nowadays athletic turf, both natural and artificial, is much more skin friendly.

Love it... kid played qb earlier in his career so obviously athletic. I am thinking Lane Johnson type (just comparison not saying he will be that good) but his size and potential with coach Traut is going to be fun to watch.

I recall some modifications when I played 69-71 in college. DBs tried to remove as many pads as they could get away with because they felt quicker. Probably a combination of things but feeling quicker and more agile might be one of those reasons.

This used to be in the rulebook, I remember we had a player get penalized in a game for it once. Much like the crowd noise punishment many years ago, it's the one and only time I've ever seen that penalty called.

No, I don't remember that. IIRC, a player, maybe a punter or kicker, was flagged because his pants and pads were too short and didn't come down over his knees far enough.

The Penn State coaching staff thinks highly of Garrett Sexton, and so does On3. The staff is working hard to recruit quality offensive linemen.

You have to like the Wisconsin offer. Looks fast and aggressive on tape. Given the lower body weight, I would like to see his weight room numbers. If the weight room numbers are there, he may just need to add good weight and develop technique over the next 2 to 3 years. Blocking TE perhaps?
