Lets discuss the Wisconsin game. Your concerns?

I'm worried about:

1. Our defensive line, though generally large, can't move very well. That includes getting off of blocks. They're tree stumps that will be helpless against a running QB.
2. Preseason I thought that our offensive line would be a strength, it is not. They're pretty good in pass protection, not so much in the run game. Just not moving people out of the hole.
3. That said, I'm not sure our RBs are seeing the holes develop. That's pretty much a requirement when you want to run zone stretch plays to the wide side.
4. I like the LBs but I'm concerned about a lack of depth there. If Rojas went down again we would, again, be screwed.
5. Not getting much pressure from the DEs. This has to be our weakest position group.

I don't think this team translates well to Big play. Even NW looks to be pretty far ahead of us at this point. Hope I'm wrong.

I would echo 3, 4 and 5. I think the OL is fine, but like LB not the depth we've enjoyed recently. Fortunately, someone blessed PSU with this schedule. I think we have enough to beat Wisky. If not, oh my.

The DL has had a vast size, experience and strength advantage. Those advantages will decrease markedly beginning with the conference schedule. So, we need to wait till Saturday to see how effective they can be. At LB, there may be more # than last year but my feeling is there would be a huge drop off in execution should anyone need to step in for #13.

I distinctly remember watching last years OOC games and thinking ummm something is wrong with both the offenses and defense. I did not get that at all in these 3 OOC games.
But this game will give us a really good benchmark.

Comparing what they intended to accomplish in their non conference games. 2025 conference results proved their approach was a failure. 2026 TBD.

This staff to date hasn't been perfect but you're right on both counts. I just think this staff has this teams pulse like I haven't seen in a very long time. That said it looks to me they need to make significant improvement in some of their schemes. Maybe I'm seeing that because they are hiding some things and I hope that's the case.

I’m concerned with Rocco’s self -perceived arm strength. He underthrew two deep balls vs Buffalo but was bailed out by his WR’s. That won’t fly against better B1G teams.

He’s no Allar but thinks he has his arm. Just my opinion.

Not Allar? Yea I guess you are correct...I haven't seen any late game interceptions to seal the loss! In all fairness....I believe the Steelers were spot on when they said Allar wasn't coached at PSU!

I don't think beating a mediocre (at best) Wisconsin team is the key to lollipops and rainbows. It's hard to see this addition of the Badgers as a measuring stick for the PSU season. What it provides is a glimpse of how this PSU team competes with an actual P4 team. The 3 non conference wins provide reasons for PSU optimism. But Wisky is a 6-6 or 7-5 team. So it's not just besting them, but showing a degree of dominance that is needed to keep whatever momentum generated by the non conference wins provide.

The new coaching staff has performed in an excellent fashion to date. There are so many opportunities for them to disappoint in the future. LOL

I'd be more amused to see this board if they don't! We've been promised excellence at the highest level. Beating this Wisconsin team doesn't seem to be anywhere close to that goal.

I agree with 3,4 & 5 to an extent. I am not sure how one can say our Oline is not a strength and that they are not "moving people out of the hole" and then say the RBs are not seeing holes develop, lol. It is quite the reverse affect of what we are used to seeing as far as DEs and RBs go, lol.
