Basically because UsaW is the one who would punish . And we saw with the 250 mile rule instead of acting they changed the rule after allowing Oklahoma st to not follow it but wouldn't tell others they didn't have to. I'm not aware of UsaW ever punishing an RTC for breaking rules . UsaW needs the RTCs they train the athletes for UsaW so they don't have to pay for it

That's what people are missing Perry was labeled a booster because that's how the NCAA can punish him . Hes not on "staff" so they couldn't punish him that way so they said he was a booster. Iowa st thought by having his title not be on staff he could call rostered athletes. The fact that he was at every practice, traveling with the team and recruiting and sitting behind the bench and telling the staff when to throw the brick he's basically a coach. I don't think the NCAA is after boosters like Bob, Ira or Richison . Theyre not at every practice and running the room and coaching guys from the front row while sitting with the team. When someone does all the coach duties just because his position title isn't on staff that doesn't mean he's not a coach

I also think you have to look at when in this f’ed up timeline did these infractions occur before some start yelling “What about Bob (or Ira)?” At one point IIRC a few years back, anybody not on staff could contact recruits and even rostered athletes as long as there wasn’t collusion between the staff and said booster. They tightened it up a bit since. So Dresser was smart enough to have plausible deniability but not smart enough to keep a guy in his room every day from doing it.

It isn't even clear it was no-show. They just said he had three whereabouts violations without specifying if it was failure to file, filing inaccurate info, or not being at his stated location when testers arrived. I would respect it more as top level trolling if he had one of each.

ISU moved him to "director of wrestling," partly because of this. They self-imposed a punishment of missing 2 contests this year.
