The Bulldogs returns to action this week on the road against a Cougars squad that can't get anything to go right for them. The Cougars comes in to this game after another scoreless outing against Rosewood. This one could get ugly quickly cause the Bulldogs will dominant the Cougars on both sides of the ball. WRH 62 G 0

This will be a very interesting match up between these two teams. The Bulldogs comes into this game after a shootout loss to Midway last week, a game were they frustrated Midway's passing attack, holding to 12 yards passing. And they'll have to bring that same game plan because the Guardians like to mix it up, and it appears that they'll rather pass the ball than run it. The Guardians has won four straight after their opener loss against North Raleigh Christian Academy 33-13. The Guardians defeated North Edgecombe 47-6 last week. Their defense has been playing lights out since that lost to NRCA, only allowing a touchdown a game. And their offense has scored at least 36 points in those wins. The Guardians has played great defense against the run, but they'll have their work cut out this week against the Bulldogs running game. Nobody has been able to slow down the Bulldogs rushing attack. I don't believe that the Guardians will have enough to keep up with the Bulldogs. P 56 WPA 40

Finally, my Tigers are back in action and they'll take the field Friday night, on HOMECOMING, trying to cool off the red hot Eagles. The Eagles has won three straight, their three wins has come against teams with a combined 2-13 record. Nevertheless, the Eagles are coming to Warsaw confident that they can get the job done. My Tigers should be hungry and ready to get that bad taste that East Duplin left in our mouth two weeks ago. In that 21-14 lost to ED, the Tigers offense never got going, especially in the second half. The Eagles will try to keep their offense rolling, they have put up over 30 during their winning streak. Look for my Tigers to set the tone early with our defense, and our offense will follow. It's HOMECOMING in Warsaw, and we're serving Eagles on the menu. R 0 JK 49

A heavyweight match up has been added to both of these teams schedule, and neither is afraid of the confrontation. The 4a Cougars will hit the road and travel over 100 miles to take on the 3a powerhouse Eagles. The Eagles are coming off a 48-0 win over Vance County, and the Cougars had no trouble in their 47-6 win over North Lenoir. Both teams like to mix it up on offense, but I believe that the Cougars may be a bit better on defense. It be interesting to see who can oppose their will on the other. I'll give the edge to the Eagles, cause getting on a bus
and traveling to Elizabeth City and being ready to play is a big task. Been there and done that with my Tigers a couple of years ago. SWE 22 N 31

A battle between two sets of Bears ββ, and we'll see just who are big and bad. HC are taking a big step up in weight to take on this 7a giant. HC come in off of a 42-6 win over previous undefeated Roanoke Rapids, while NB had a week off to think about what went wrong in their 50-21 beat down against 7a power Cleveland. It's good that HC is taking on this challenge, but i don't know if it will help them in the long run. And I think NB is just going to take out all of their frustration out on them. HC 6 NB 56
(19)EAST BLADEN EAGLES 3-2 1-0 @ (21)HOBBTON WILDCATS 1-4 1-0
I hope the Eagles aren't looking at the Wildcats 1-4 record and think that this will be a easy road trip to Newton Grove. If they do than it'll be a long quiet bus ride home. Cause these Wildcats are a scrappy bunch, they are battle tested, and they can score some points. Two of their four losses came against two teams that are still undefeated. The Eagles said hold my beer, they have scored over 25 points in every game this season, including the lost against 3a power Whiteville. Whom they gave a scare late in the game. Both teams are coming off of wins over Columbus County teams, Wildcats took care of East 32-13, while the Eagles clawed through West 30-14. Hobbton went to East Bladen and defeated them last season 32-28, and I look for East Bladen to return the favor this time. EB 29 H 28

Conference play has begun in the SVC, and Midway and Rosewood are at the top. Midway and Princeton had another exciting shootout. When will Princeton pull out some of their close games? Their running back is now the leading rusher in the NATION. Will he have enough in the tank to finish strong? He had 53 carries last week, and that's a lot of carries for any level of football. Goldsboro is still struggling to show any signs of being competitive. Wallace Rose Hill and my Tigers are back in action this week, and should be ready to make a run for the conference crown.
