Rhule is 4-10 in conference on the road. All wins were fugly and against bad teams...it will be fugly, but michigan state is bad. Line is very fair. I think we will be winning like 10-0, then 13-3, and end up winning like 16-13 after messing up a bit at the end. This is the super bowl, then a big win against Maryland and we will be ranked for Indiana to come to town.

True, Rhule hasn’t been the greatest game day coach here and can certainly do better. But another member made a great observation and point…he is really the CEO, face, and mouth of the program hiring the assistants to do their job. Do you think our assistants are better than MSU assistants?
Too early to tell. I do think he upgraded defensive coordinator. But this is year 4 and Aurich has only had one off season with this group. And from a couch potatoe coach I see holes in the defense.
Dana still has a lot to prove. First 3 games prove nothing. Have to execute against quality defenses.
massive upgrade to for the oline coach. Nice to have Wade as the line coach. But this position group was a massive fail from CEO Rhule from the jump: and let uncle handcuff this program: Again coach with one offseason going into year 4.
So having multiple assistant coaches tenure have basically the same amount of time as first year assistants at MSU In CEO Rhules 4th year. It’s just too early to know. Saturday will tell us what we need to know
The "he's a CEO" line is low IQ cope.
Fitzgerald as a coach is better at winning games in the B1G than Rhule, period.
Rhule is not doing any of the game planning on either side of the ball.. Fitz probably is.. The question is more how does Fitz fare against Dana & Aurich.
Rhule has more experience on the offensive side of the ball and has coached offensive as assistant in NFL and offensive coordinator at Temple.
Fitz is all bout the defensive side of the ball and that’s his forte.
the point is, I don't think Rhule is that involved on our side. Rhule has shown us that he is not a good game day coach. I would be fine if he stayed up in the press box and let the coordinators handle everything.. and I believe they are already sort of doing that, (minus Rhule being in the box).
Can only remember Paterino ever be in the press box because of certain reason.
Head Coach‘s need to be on the field to lead there team, it’s the reason why there Head coach’s.

Matt's strengths are speaking engagements and recruiting.. he makes poor decisions during game days, but that's not limited to just game days either.. he makes poor hiring and firing decisions too.
But, I'm not going to sabotage what I think will be a very good season based on a lame head coach..
having Matt as a more CEO role makes perfect sense. It means the coordinators lead their respective parts of the team.
Rule can still deliver good overall team speeches and what not, I just don't want him tinkering with anything during game days. I'd be fine if they locked him up in a utility closet during game day. He's a liability.
But we're going to have a good season IN SPITE of Rhule's inadequacies
That's what I think anyway. As a figurehead, he's fine. Stay out of the actual coaching.

To be clear, I think Pat Fitzgerald is a very capable head coach. Tomorrow’s game and outcome will be very telling for Matt Rhule in Year 4.

It just tells me you're unfamiliar with what a CEO does and also unfamiliar with what good coaching looks like.
Temple's offense was dogshit under Rhule. But yes he was a coordinator with an NFL defensive coordinator as his head coach.
If Rhule was fired tomorrow, there isn't a single top 25 team that would hire him as a coordinator on either side of the ball which is pretty damning.
Statistically his offenses were always bottom 3rd in yards. I think this explains why he wanted SATT as OC...he didn't want an OC who was better than he was....not many out there had worse stats than Rhule as an OC and still got hired as a head coach anyway. Can you imagine Frost being OC at UCF and having the 80th-100th best offense and still being promoted to head coach. This is what happened to Rhule at Temple. Crazy life he has had.

And I know what good coaching looks like. In fact for a long period there were two here that coached football that were more than just good. I was too young to remember the first head coach but I definitely remember the second head coach.
