Today was more reminiscent of the win over tO$U in what, 82 or 83, when Marv Cook made the catch and dive into the end zone on the last play of the game. I remember sitting in the car listening to Zabel call the TD while the wifey was in church at a wedding that started about 15 minutes earlier. Probably one of the top 5 reasons we ended up divorced...

Both games were great wins.

That MSU game was a brutal slugfest, four quarters of very physical football. Stanzi-McNutt got an iconic television call on that final play.

This one didn't have that great call by the commentators, but it vanquished some dragons, for sure. I recall the McSorley and Barkley game in Kinnick about ten years ago. Everything as loud as can be just a play away from the win, only to have the ball go just over Stone's(?) hands to give PSU that win. Crowd goes immediately silent, and everyone saunters out. It's a brutal feeling. I love that for the Big House today.

I also love how perfect that throw and catch were. Just up to that chaotic line of ambiguity before hitting it. No question, a perfect to tap survive the ground TD.

Well, if you’re remarried, don’t do that again! 😂

Michigan Homecoming 35 years ago........ Rogers drives Iowa 80+ yards in the final minutes to take the lead. Elvis G. left the building after throwing an interception to seal the deal for Iowa! Hawks went to MSU the next week and beat a tough Sparty team! Then two weeks later they absolutely thumped a stacked Illini team on the road! Then it was onto the Rose Bowl! Hopefully this team makes one of those 3 games-in-a-row runs these next few weeks too!!

Was at both of these, but this one was at our end. Great to see players’ parents celebrating it when it happened

Interesting that all the walk-off touchdowns I can recall for Iowa happened away from Kinnick Stadium.
  • Hartlieb to Cook
  • Tate to Holloway
