Pretty sure he graduated in spring of 25, though that obviously wouldn’t preclude him from hanging with his former teammates. Nice kid, met him a couple of times.
I don't dismiss whatever happened, but if I was convicted of hanging with the wrong people in college, I would have been executed many times over. I only want the guilty punished and not the accompanying posse.

I’m sure he is a great kid. No disrespect intended. His hair cut was similiar. Just putting my detective hat on

If Davis did get into a scrap, it might not go well for him. Most of us know it’s not wise for someone to get into a fight with a well trained college wrestler. It’s possible that someone got a bad beating.

Which would be very unfortunate. I know someone personally who was a top tier wrestler in his college years who got into a scrap and hammered someone pretty badly. Charges were filed against him and the DA used the fact that he was a top level wrestler against him. He ended up paying a substantial fine and got off on probation since he had no prior record.

Maybe tikk or one of the other attorneys posting here can chime in, but assuming Davis was involved in something, he might find himself with serious legal issues depending on what happened.
I understand what you are saying. I went to school with a guy who was a very good amateur boxer, who aspired to be a professional boxer. He got into a fight with a guy (guy hit him and he hit the guy back), but he spent the weekend in jail and they really came after him with the charges because of his boxing experience.

So you think a lawyer is gonna influence Cael on who starts at a given weight? Share some of what you are smoking.
Lmao. I never ever said that. Kasak is not getting suspended for doing nothing. You literally brought the entire possibly up.

Kasak will definitely be in the doghouse a bit I imagine. Not suspension level but I don't think Cael will be pleased he was out and about at 2 AM at bars on a weekday. Also, fair or not, he's guilty be association and it's a bad look for the program, his picture was posted as a person of interest. I imagine Cael also expects he is a better accountability partner for a close friend who he KNOWS needs it.

And before people say "college kids drink", obviously someone who wants to be the D1 national champ (with another super talented kid who by all counts does the right things vying for his spot and hell, a true freshman that wants to enroll and go) should hold themselves to a higher standard.

I wasn’t trying to say you were implying anything by your guess; I had the same guess looking at the photo. Just sharing what context I have to share (not much). I’m not going to speculate further on this situation unless more info comes out. 👍

So now that the evidence is in an we have an indictment, conviction and sentencing, when do we have the hanging at Old Main?

No hangings. They must be sacrificed to the wrestling gods.

This situation might either give Cael more fits or actually help solve a problem. What are the rules regarding the maximum number of guys allowed in the room and when does the final roster have to be named? Also, once the team roster is defined, is it set in concrete for the year or can guys be moved out and replaced when injuries or disciplinary issues occur?

The season is not too far away and Cael needs to make some decisions pretty quickly. Don’t know if this incident will make it easier or harder.

Anybody on the team before that rule change is grandfathered in.

So Davis and Kasak are not affected.

Had it confused with the Ohio case. I just read it and they WILL count against the cap. I will edit my post
Hope I'm interpreting everything correctly between all the confusing posts. But based on what you're saying here, if Levi does become eligible, Cael may have to cut someone to meet the roster limit. If Davis did something serious enough to warrant a suspension, this incident might make Cael's decision a little easier.

Levi coming back would mean someone has to go unless the court ruled all the athletes exempt. Currently they've 31 so someone must be exempt.

It is also possible they have more than one who is exempt. If that were the case then they could have 32 with Levi without having to cut anyone. There is just no way to know as the exempt status is not publicly available.

The answer on Levi is the same as the answer to the old question, what does Bob Dole wear, boxers or briefs? Depends.

Do they make depends in the form of boxers? If not then we have our answer.
