Tom Moore, McAfee, Pat Angerer, Dallas Clark.............................. now let's get us Bob Sanders and Peyton Manning in town for this one.
Anyone remember the last time they came to Iowa City when we played Ohia St?
Wasn't Jake the Snake (Christensen) our QB for that one?Anyone remember the last time they came to Iowa City when we played Ohia St?
Agree if they get crushed. He was acting like GameDay being there would make a difference who wins because of the historical. Nonsense. To add, if we, (Iowa) want to be respected, talked about, relevant, we NEED these type of games. Just playing that game at Michigan and how we hung in and found a way, got the Hawks, a LOT of national pub this week. We'll be on every college football talk show ALL week this week. Even before Gameday on Saturday, it looks like Pat Macafee will be doing his show from Iowa City on Friday. There heading up on Thursday to set up. IF we can at least make a game of it, this is all good. If we were to pull off a win, this would launch Iowa going forward this season. No impact. Just a biggger black eye if it garners a bunch of attention only to have Iowa get squashed on their home field.
The edges of the sword don't get much sharper. If they get shellacked it"ll be another boost to the Iowa the poser narrative. If the miraculous happens and they somehow pull off a win they'll be in the top tier of favorites to make the CFP and B1G championship.Agree if they get crushed. True enough, But if we can even stay in the game, the book will still be open for the remainder of the season. I know it would be cool to be the favorite in a game like this, but we have to play OSU, Michigan, Oregon, or Indiana(at his point) to get this type of attention and the opportunity to step out on the biggest off national stages. I take some hope that Illinois stayed in the game for much of it, and moved the ball on OSU's defense (about 450yds I think) AT OSU. A little Kinnick magic, and maybe we can hang in this one.The edges of the sword don't get much sharper. If they get shellacked it"ll be another boost to the Iowa the poser narrative. Drew Tate
I'm not an expert, but it appears that they are setting up two seperate events at the Pentacrest and on the closed streets (Clinton & Iowa)
It's mass chaos around there this morning.
Someone said there was going to be something involving Caitlin Clark that is seperate event in the same area. There appears to be a basketball court and racks of basketballs in one of the staging areas that they're setting up. I'm not familiar enough with Game day to know if that's part of their setup or something different.
It could have been alot worse but Tressel called off the dogs. I think Tressel remembered 2004 when Kirk had the 2nd and 3rd string in late in the 4th that allowed Ohia State to score late and avoided being shut out.Ohio State had 0 turnovers in that 2006 game; Iowa had 4.
Drew Tate threw 3 INTs; Iowa also lost a fumble by Scott Chandler when Iowa was down 31-17..
Time of Possession:
40:30: Ohio State
19:30: IOWA

Agree with all this. We NEED to compete in games like this, win or lose. Lots of buzz around program right now for a lot of reasons. Huge opportunity. But yes, need to at least keep it 'competitive' as long as possible. However, I really do fear a Rose-bowl type game (down 28-0 in first). Hope notAgree if they get crushed. I just don't think so, and hope I'm not wrong. Illinois moved the ball fairly well on OSU, (about 450yds) running and passing, and that was in the Shoe, not Kinnick where this game is. If we can move the ball on them we can shorten the number of times they'll have the ball, and stay in the game. That means no turn overs or short fields for their offense hopefully.Agree with all this. We NEED to compete in games like this, win or lose. Mine is "Brutus Has No Nuts."Mocked up a quick sign for Gameday. AI could prolly do much better. I'm in FL this week, but so can't be there

No impact on the game itself, but always good PR regardless of the outcome. You can't buy the kind of marketing exposure and buzz that Gameday brings to your campus. Their presence is always a win.No impact. Just a biggger black eye if it garners a bunch of attention only to have Iowa get squashed on their home field.

and you'd be dead wrong. Every team and University wants Gameday on their campus. There's a reason for that.
And why should that be a topic of discussion at this point? I mean do people EVER get over this non sense? Who cares. I mean if Connor shows up, great, if not who cares. If Indiana wins tonight, I'm not sure if CC herself will be there. Will the McCaffreys be back in town?
Maybe Alford too since he is retired nowAnd why should that be a topic of discussion at this point? I mean do people EVER get over this non sense? Who cares. I mean if Connor shows up, great, if not who cares. If Indiana wins tonight, I'm not sure if CC herself will be there.
Sorry, Eric will be in Atlanta Saturday looking for Jack Smith!I don’t pay as close attention as I used to but I watched a video this morning of a giant faceplant of enormous proportions with the Hawks being at the center of an epic viral video. I nominate Sen. Eric Schmidt to be the HAWKEYE guest picker Saturday.
This guy Schmidt out and about today acting like his embarrassing self own never happened! I mean, I guess that’s how politics is practiced nowadays but holy hell man we all saw what happened.Sorry, Eric will be in Atlanta Saturday looking for Jack Smith!
And Todd Lickliter.Maybe Alford too since he is retired now
