The Eagles will step out of conference play to take on the Gators. The Gators are coming off of an bye week, and a loss to 5A heavyweight Wilson Hunt 35-21 Monday night. The Eagles are coming off of an 58-13 loss to my Tigers last week. The Eagles will need to start fast in this one on offense, because the Gators defense is really good. I look for the Gators to pull away in the end. R 12 MC 38

The Princeton Bulldogs brings their high power offense to the Dog Pound to face the defense of the WRH Bulldogs. Nobody has been able to slow down Princeton's running game thus far on the season, Wake Prep Academy had their opportunity last week, and failed 67-0. Now it's WRH turn! In their meeting last season WRH held them to 145 yards rushing, on their way to a 49-16 victory. A game where WRH led 42-8 at halftime. I do believe that Princeton's offense is better this season, and I don't think WRH can hold them under 150 yards on the ground. I think the bigger issue is can Princeton defense step up and create more possessions for their offense, because WRH offense isn't what we're used to seeing from them. This should be a good one! Princeton hasn't scored under 34 points this season, and WRH defense hasn't allowed anyone to score 30 points this season. No matter what anyone thinks, this WRH team is really good, and they're 4 points from being undefeated. I think WRH will put on a defensive clinic and hold Princeton to their season low in points. My Tigers will hit the road and travel to Spiveys Corner this week for a heavyweight showdown against the undefeated Midway Raiders. The Raiders are coming off of an bye week, they beat Princeton 52-46 in their last outing. In that game the Raiders Qb1 ran for over 200 yards, but only threw for 12 yards. My Tigers dismissed a much improved Rosewood team 58-13. My Tigers tried to mix it up a little, and was very successful. We'll need to do that against the Raiders, and keep their defense off balance all night. Our offense will need to sustain drives and keep the Raiders offense on the sideline and not let them get a rhythm going. This will be the best balanced offense my Tigers has faced this season, and this will be the best defense the Raiders has faced this season. Look for my Tigers to be on the hunt Friday night, and rip through the Raiders, and take control at the top of the SVC. JK 35 M 14

CURRITUCK COUNTY KNIGHTS 3-2 @ (7)NORTHEASTERN EAGLES 5-1
The Eagles was in a battle for a while last week against Southwest Edgecombe, but eventually pulled away for a 46-30 victory. And now they'll be geared up as conference play begins against the Knights. The Knights started off slow last week against Bertie, but ended up getting the win 28-8. I don't believe that this Knights team are as good as the team that defeated the Eagles last season, and the Eagles are a scoring machine this season. CC 10 N 42

Both the Rams and Vikings are coming off of bye weeks and are ready to get conference play started this week. The Rams will need to put together a complete game in order to take down this Vikings team. Vikings are a lot better than what people thought that they would be this season. And I think they're still steps ahead of the Rams . GC 7 T 38

The Bears
are coming off of an lost to 7A power New Bern 56-28. In a game that got away from them after being tied at 14. The Panthers are riding a two game winning streak, and was winners over Gates County 13-6 last week. A game where the Panthers only had 172 yards of total offense. They'll need to get their offense in gear for this one, because these Bears can score with the best of them. I think the Panthers are in a rebuild season, they lost a ton of talent from last season's team. And the Bears are conference contenders this season. PC 6 HC 41

The undefeated Warriors invites the Cougars into Warriors territory for a conference clash Friday night. The Warriors defense may be the best in the state, they haven't allowed a single point through five games. Even though their opponents records are a combined 6-22, and 5 of those six wins has come against some of the worst programs in the state. This Cougars team will be by far the best competition they have faced this season. The Cougars are coming off of an lost to Northeastern 46-30. A game where the Cougars made too many mistakes to overcome. I believe that the Warriors will get scored on for the first time this season, but the Cougars can't seem to get out of their own way. What a way for my Tigers to kick off conference play with a win over Rosewood. I'm glad that we came out and handled business, now our focus turns to Midway. Wallace Rose Hill didn't get no fight from Goldsboro, and Princeton was very impressive defensively against WPA. Now they'll be at the Dog Pound Friday night looking for respect.
