Arguably one of the worst losses in the Ferentz era. No sugar coating this, that was a bad Minnesota team, and we did whatever we could to give them the win. A season defining loss that ends our playoff hopes.

And the OL and offensive play calling was just as embarrassing.
Hawthorne was a DAWG today, but other than him, defense tackled very poorly when it mattered.
Special teams were bad.
penalties terrible
Ball security- terrible
And to think MN is so bad we almost beat them.

They weren’t alone. Many were picking Iowa by multiple scores. It was a colossal failure by the team. No way to sugar coat it.

It’s the type of game that will haunt these guys off and on their entire lives if it’s what cost them a playoff berth. I still think they lose at least one more game. Likely two more.

I know Hank had the td drive but I think we should’ve had a better chance by letting heck figure it out during the middle of the game
Hecks 5 series...

4 yds,
65 yds Int,
0 yds,
19 yds,
-3 yds.

Heck had the entire Washington game to get it figured out and then he totally un-forgets it? Screw that.

Does the coaching staff have to give him 3 quarters to figure it out every game? F that!

Minnesota is ranked #34 on defense while Washington dropped another 5 spots to #57.

Iowa faces...
Wisconsin #12
NW #22
Purdue #122
Illinois #80
Nebraska #14

Prepare yourself for 3 more losses with either or both of these QBs playing.

I guess, I cannot put all the blame on the QB's. IMO the offensive strategy, if there was one, was horrendous and typical of Ferentz teams. JMO

One of the very few optimistic posters on the MN board pointed out that many of their recent wins, as few as they are, came during their worst seasons.

Last laugh goes to him, regrettably.
