Does Tate even know what he’s doing?

Tate said last year that, “Per capita, (Schiano) has to be the best coach in America.”

This was in 2025, when it was crystal clear to most of us that Schiano was going to fail in 2.0. So what makes us think he won’t botch this hire with a Schiano type retred? Hopefully Zinn fixes it.

What on Earth do you expect a brand new president to say? It means absolutely nothing.
Well he had no problem calling out the rest of the athletic dept, saying they didn’t have a winning mindset (except for Schiano). I didn’t see him make an exception for Pike or anyone else. He could have just stuck with his message of winning. He clearly was hoodwinked by Schiano.

Means nothing IMHO. Sorry.

‘Per capita’ in that context / sentence makes absolutely no sense. He couldn’t have said something so idiotic.

Zinn has already shown what she can do at the business end but has she ever hired a high profile head coach???

Jfc, It's literally her second year. Women's bball hire seems like a good one so far in terms of recruiting. She simply hasn't had enough time to make too many big hires. Football will be her biggest one.

I think their timeline got disrupted.

They dealt with women’s basketball last year.

They probably figured that men’s basketball might need the attention this year, and although there was unhappiness with how football was going the large buyout and NIL money they did spend would keep football mediocre instead of pathetic so it could be dealt with next year if it didnt improve.

That's my point. We really don't know yet. I really hope she's successful.

She’s already been successful from a financial standpoint.

The stuff Hobbs was leaving on the table was so basic. The longer he’s been gone the worse his tenure is looking.
