People like to say he won with Schiano's players, but wait Schiano couldn't win a league championship with Schiano's players. We beat them. I miss the Kyle Flood da

Agreed, but not musical talent- Counting Crows--oof.Flood would be so much better evaluating the portal
Hey dipsheet-Flood let Fridge do his job and did not meddle or dictate or put constraints on it, something your guy does not do.Fridge beat them, not Flood. Flood had a 4th year Gary Nova. We played them with our backup QB who is learning the ropes, and virtually no defense.

There's no way Greg even gets a sniff at the old conference championship against Louisville like Flood did that one year.People like to say he won with Schiano's players, but wait Schiano couldn't win a league championship with Schiano's players.
Yep and it’s a very fair point.People like to say he won with Schiano's players, but wait Schiano couldn't win a league championship with Schiano's players.

sure im missing someone but it ain’t schiano
Yeah, that was a bad look. But Flood was getting a bit more than minimum wage and he had a target on his back. Personally, if that were me, I would hammer down and say F it, I'm going to work my butt off and show my stupid boss I'm up to the job. But some people say F it, why try, I'm gonna get fired anyway. Don't agree with that logic, but can understand it.Do like the list'
Remember Fridge's parting shot at Flood when he left. Something along the lines of, when I'm working, I would expect everyone else to be working and in the building. At the time, it was reported Flood would leave early to have dinner with his family and leave everyone else to do film study and gameplan.
HUH?There's no way Greg even gets a sniff at the old conference championship against Louisville like Flood did that one year.
There is nuance to all of this history. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sold that Schiano works harder than Flood did but ‘hours worked’ is not necessarily the ultimate metric and working 12+ hours a day to try and outwork your peers isn’t necessarily a good thing.Yeah, that was a bad look. He meant that in 2012, Schiano wouldn’t have done as well as Flood did.HUH?
2006 West Virginia loss in OT 41-39, win that one and we get the BCS bid as we beat Louisville head to head but would have shared the conference title with them. You remember the nonfumble call on a clear fumble by Slayton and the drop TD by Townsend game.
Or 2011 an 8-3 Rutgers just beat a 4-7 UConn team and you win a share of the conference title. Only to get curb stomped 40-22. I know I was there.

What like not blitzing a one-legged Teddy Bridgewater? I will give him credit for the fake field goal, great call and 2.5 yds. downfield is not 3 like the rule states and nobody calls it when it's that close except that dick. It usually has to be egregious and well past 3 yds.He meant that in 2012, Schiano wouldn’t have done as well as Flood did.
Did you just say "if" ?HUH?

Yeah, he said Schiano would never sniff getting close to the conference championship and I pointed out the painful times that he did. And also, if he meant just 2012, that defense with those seniors ran itself. It's actually a crime that Flood went 9-4 with the talent on that team.Did you just say "if" ?
At least HE WON.He did win with Schiano recruits and wasn’t able to maintain it on his own

The same way Schiano and the best offense he had in 2.0 couldn’t beat a Penn State team with an Interim HC that couldn’t wait till the season was over.Michigan was bad in 2014 (ended at 5-7). Everybody knew the coach, Brady Hoke, was going to be fired.
In the she same 2014 season RU should have beat Penn St in eventual 13-10 loss.
I never forget that game because PSU's secondary coach PROMISED his unit FOUR INTs and they got FIVE.
TurNOVA
You may be rightAt least HE WON.
Schiano couldnt even win with “Schiano Recruits.”
There are many reasons why some of us believe that Schiano has a 9 win ceiling, regardless of resources and what you describe is one of them. That was a nasty game (UConn). RU had beaten Cincy (with Munchie) the week before and team was riding high. UConn was pumped to spoil and RU was lost in the clouds. A problem Schiano had was when his team had a big win he didn't bring them back to earth for next game. The best coaches know how to keep teams grounded.
The 2006 Cincy game thrashing (30-11) after Louisville should never have happened.. But players were doing media interviews all week and TV/print were throwing bouquets like RU just won the Super Bowl. Greg always had a "the kids deserve acclaim" attitude. Nobody was thinking about Cincy (except Thompson, Britt and Clark). Teel throws 4 INTs, Ray Rice and Leonard combine for 57 yds rushing. The 2011 UConn game was the same thing. RU beat UConn two years in a row including the Tim Brown Halloween slap. UConn was amped to play spoiler. One thing about football is that even a mediocre team can be nuclear if they get pumped for real.
The offense was bad. Only so far a good D can take you and when Rutgers played the 3 teams* with good DLs, the offense was rendered in the fetal position. Can’t win when your OL is dominated.Yeah, he said Schiano would never sniff getting close to the conference championship and I pointed out the painful times that he did. And also, if he meant just 2012, that defense with those seniors ran itself. It's actually a crime that Flood went 9-4 with the talent on that team.
