Could be #2 or #1 Northeastern has a loss to an average DH Conley team, Whiteville has 9 wins and no losses, they are not claiming the forfeit from the West Bladen team that folded mid season. Hard for me to wrap my head around a team with a loss to a mediocre team seeding higher that a team that is undefeated???

That mediocre team would beat every team that Whiteville has played.
Would you say that if the undefeated team beat 10 winless teams, or would you say that that undefeated team hasn't played anybody? The teams on your schedule matter, which is exactly yall dropped that forfeit. It would have hurt your rpi even more, even though it counts as a victory. Whiteville's schedule < Northeastern's.
That's not impressive when you see that the 4a East is down. You only have four teams that can come out the 4a east, and Clinton is not one of them.
We beat the #3 seed in 4a at Clinton. Find a win like that on NE schedule

Holmes, Southwest Edgecombe, and teams in their conference is way stronger than Whiteville's.

We have 3 teams in our conference that would probably beat them
A #2 seed in Holmes. A #6 seed in SW Edgecombe. A #2 seed and defending state champion in Wilson Prep. #5 seed Martin County.
Hanging your hat on beating Clinton is cool and all, but don't forget about the other 9 games Whiteville played. Going into the last game of the regular season, Northeastern had a strength of schedule ranked 9th in 3A. Whiteville schedule was 38th. That's numerical proof that Whiteville played lesser opponents that Northeastern and didn't deserve to be ahead of them. Had Northeastern lost more than one, then yeah.

Say what you want about DH Conley but that game was in Greenville the second week of the season . That is a very tough place for any team to play. The Conley Crazies are as wild and loud as you’ll see at any hsfb game in Nc and always seem to distract the opposing players.

Whiteville can't hide from playing poor teams. That's why they didn't get the number one seed, even though they're undefeated. Sorry.
Everybody has tried to explain it to you.
If it makes you feel any better, Warren County is undefeated. Warren County is the number THREE seed in 2A. Both one and two each have losses, but are still ahead of undefeated WC, simply because WC didn't play a tough schedule. So no one is out here picking on poor little Whiteville.

Although I do mostly agree with your post but realistically there's only about 3 or 4 teams that have a real chance of winning the 3a east this year also. And I do think Whiteville is one of them. But I also think Whiteville seeding is correct
3a East is a lot deeper than you think! About 7 or 8 teams that can win the East
Ok I will name my 3. Northeastern, Whiteville, James Kenan. Midway maybe but their defense worries me. Wallace with their defense can beat anyone on a given night but don't think they play consistent enough to go on a 5 game run. That's it to me. Who am I missing?
Eastern Randolph, Hertford County, Martin County and Pasquotank County.
I think each of these teams are good enough for a 3rd round run.

I thought Martin County was good but they aren’t imo. NE better look out for Green Central in the second round.
Just spoke with the NE people, they promise not to put a running clock on GC. The coaches are still a little upset because the plan was to let Ptank win so that they could go in the road an win the eastern title at Whiteville. That way the Pack didn’t have to make that long trip home again from Elizabeth City winless once again. NE coaches we’re trying to look out for them.
The problem is the loss, live with it.
Now there are excuses for the stain on NE season to a 6-4 team let’s see how they do in their playoffs.

Agreed. Lots of football to be played however if Whiteville does have to trek to E city again we will have a bigger crowd than them bring our band and play a good brand of football that can win up there . Don’t make predictions we don’t beat our chest we like to show it the field. DHConley

D.H. Conley is a 6 and 4 team. Their 4 loses are 2 seed in 7a Garner , 4 seed in 7a New Bern , 1 seed in 6a Greenville Rose , 2 seed in 6a Jacksonville. Man that's some of the best teams in any class east of Raleigh. Conley is a good football team maybe not great but a good solid 7a football team

Why do I have to live with it? My school isn't even in this bracket. You're the one crying about it. But it's done. Whiteville didn't get the 1 seed.

Nothing can be done about your teams Seeding, it's done. Sure everyone would like to have a #1 seed but as long as you win, seeding doesn't matter and with a #2 you'll have some home games, it's okay.
