Of the most recent iteration of the CPL three schools have been competitive; Morgan Park, Kenwood, and Simeon. For two additional schools to be added to those ranks is achievement. That's a 67% increase.

That's a good way of looking at it. An improved Public League would certainly be good for Illinois football as a whole.

Those five teams play in two conferences, Red Star and Red Shield. Pretty good showing to have 5 of the 12 teams still in the playoffs. A lot of other conferences could only dream of that success. West Suburban Gold and the Upstate 8 have 1 total team still playing and they are going to likely get clocked next round.

That's interesting. Admittedly, I'm unfamiliar with the CPL's sub-conference breakdown.
