Fremd was a much better team than this version of Barrington. This won’t be competitiveTake alook at what happened to Fremd last year. Same thing will happene to Barrington

I think you’re underestimating how good those three schools are compared to the rest. You are all probably correct in that Mt Carmel, Loyola, and LWE will win this weekend as they are all heavily favored. My point is that I think an upset is within the realm of possibility........
SCN and Prospect over MC were both huge.I think you’re underestimating how good those three schools are compared to the rest.
That brings about a great question for the board: What is the biggest upset that you can remember in an ihsa playoff game?
Maybe Prospect beating MC in the title game in 2003? I might be off on the year but it was early 2000s.
When you say top 10 do you mean top 10 seeds? That's totally different then being ranked in the top 10 which I don't think Sandburg ever was a top 10 team, they certainly weren't by the end of the year.Sounds like most people think York has a better shot to beat Loyola than Barrington does Mt Carmel?? Not sure if I agree, still think one of the two has an upset win this weekend. I know both MC and Loyola are heavy favorites to win but they are each playing a very hot team that hasn't lost in over a month and has beaten some top 10 teams! Let's see, that's why they play the game............
Good call on the SCN upset. I remember Belvidere beating The Brook but I don’t remember that it was an upset. Too young.SCN and Prospect over MC were both huge.
NC, MS, and Bolingbrook over Loyola were enormous
Belvidere over Bolingbrook was large
Welcome backMC 56-10 *maybe 56-17 cause of a score late vs backups
What number is your son on Barrington? Here are my 8A predictions, I know many will not agree, going out on a limb for a few, just have a hunch:
LWE 41 - Hinsdale 20 : LWE too good and Hinsdale;s defense is average at best
Naperville North 31 - Oswego 28 : Saw the NN QB play, kid is a dynamo and can make the throws, they are healthy again, think they upset Oswego
Bolingbrook 35 - LT 24 : Bolingbook just too athletic and fast for LT, but it will be a good game
Huntley 40 - Lane 14: Don't know much about either team but it seems they has the easiest game this weekend and wins easily
HF 42 - New Trier 31: New Trier has a good passing offense, very average defense and HF much faster and more athletic
Maine South 45 - Ignatius 42: This is a true "toss-up", giving edge to Maine South due to their D1 QB, but it could go either way.
Loyola 30 - York 24 : Much closer and competitive game then people think, but Loyola's depth and better athletes find a way to win in 4th qtr
Barrington 28 - Mt. Carmel 27: I know 99% will disagree w/ me, just think Barrington will slow the game down, have success running the ball and find a way to win a close one and get a major upset!
He's the QB at NaperNorth. What number is your son on Barrington?
He played against Fremd. Is the NN QB healthy? Got carted off during ESL game.
Are you implying Oswego is the underdog? If there is a major upset, I think it is oswego winning next week.
MC has seen some of the best running backs in the State and in New Jersey. No team has ran over MC this season. Some have broken a run here and there but if the plan is to run all over MC I'd advise you get a backup plan. You have every right to your prediction and to root for whom you want, but it's very rare that one dimensional teams have success over MC.Here are my 8A predictions, I know many will not agree, going out on a limb for a few, just have a hunch:

Let me tell you. As someone who has been around the MSL over 20 years. This was the worst MSL West I’ve seen in all my years of being around this area. Even when the best MSL teams play schools like MC they are heavy underdogs. This year, where the MSL talent is low, it will be a bloodbath. I hope I’m wrong bc I think Osterhues is a great back, but MC has 8 skill guys better than Osterhues. Not being facetious. Here are my 8A predictions, I know many will not agree, going out on a limb for a few, just have a hunch:

They will be next week. Should be a moderate favorite this week. Are you implying Oswego is the underdog?
They will be the underdog if we get that game (Bolingbrook), but I like playing at home on grass. They will be next week. Should be a moderate favorite this week.
