Just an insane waste of energy and resources by the sec and ncaa. Maybe spend time on actual issues that will be around for years to come instead of this one year issue that common sense says you shouldn’t fight.
Forward thinking - or lack thereof - has always been the issue with college administrators. The O’Bannon vs NCAA case was twelve years ago. To most people, that was the trigger that times were changing. But what were college administrators focused on? Locker rooms, weight rooms and practice facilities to match good ole State U.
Instead of getting out in front of it and bringing in the smart people to develop creative solutions to grow revenue, they buried their heads in the sand and are now playing catch up. And if they weren’t smart enough to get out ahead of it, they sure as hell aren’t smart enough to catch up.
I think I agree with you. Grandfather these kids in and move forward for goodness sakes. Do that and the fly by nighters will go back to chasing ambulances.
I’d love to know who pushed back so hard at the initial meeting that got it tabled…and go kick their asş.
Not all...there would have been other eligibility issues, such as signing pro contracts or failing to maintain academic progress....plus the litigation from athletes that lost scholarships because the forner players came back.

Y’all summarized it well from what I can see. Crazy money is available to play college football. Of course a bunch of men who have one last chance to make money playing football are going to fight for their right to play.

And a bunch of other idiots, all of them grown men, some of them elected judges, will stop at absolutely nothing, whether it's a ruling or their own money, to see their team win a game.
