I was thinking the 2-deeps were to be released today. Is that true? If yes, what time today?

I sure hope the QB is listed as Brown OR Hecklinski, just so I can enjoy this board.
I hope they put OR McNamara just to **** with us.
From what I’ve been reading/listening too on articles/podcasts from the beat guys, Brown seems to have been better in the majority of practices so I’m expecting it to go that way.
Kirk did say last week they would have 1 more “big practice” before game week, I assume that’s a scrimmage. I think it’s safe to assume that whoever is listed first performed better in that scrimmage.
I hope we run a 2 QB system where the both line up shotgun right next to each other.
They almost always do a night scrimmage the Saturday before game week. We normally hear thru the grapevine about what happens in that scrimmage, but oddly enough, it's been crickets so far.

It would seem to me that they do not know what to do at QB so let's roll them out both out on Saturday and see what happens.....hope that one outshines the other and the decision is made. For now, we don't have a starting QB.

It’s never good going into a season without a starter named at quarterback. It’s too unsettling for a team with all the uncertainty and unnecessary drama. Just pick a godd@mn starter and if you’re wrong change it. This is one Ferentz tendency that has always bothered me.
Absolutely unnecessary drama. Very un-Kirk like. He has to know the longer he goes without naming a starter the more he's going to get asked about it and I can't imagine he enjoys answering those questions.
I get it, the QB competition has been close. Just seems dumb to go into the season without naming a starter. Name a guy and let the offense rally around him.

If I remember correctly (and I probably don’t) we played Tennessee in an early season game, maybe 1st game and Hayden was undecided on 3 QB’s. McGuire, Poholsky and Hartlieb I believe. And he played all 3 in that game and it was a disaster. Now NiU is not Tennessee and we could probably get away with playing both. Going to be interesting!

Yes and imo time to do it was after kids day. Each had their fair shot up to that point it's obviously neck and neck and performances were much different. At that point you try to help offense build momentum and revisit it if you have too. Imo I think KF wants Brown to be starter and had results from the scrimmage been flipped Brown would be named starter by now.
I think he actually DOES enjoy messing with the message-board portion of the fan base.
I have seen this scenario several times. I have no preference for which QB wins the job.
I still agree with @Hawk-A-Doodle-Doo that they should have both in the backfield for the first snap. Ultimate rppo.
You could be right, I just think it messes with the rest of the offense. Different QBs have different tendencies, different pocket habits, different arm strength, different throwing styles, etc. I just think it makes more sense to go into the season with some continuity in those things for the OL, TEs, WRs, instead of making them get used to two "starters" who probably do those things differently.
And about 3 drives in fans would be calling to put the other guy in.
