Dude won 10 games at Marshall, took Southern Miss from 1-11 to 7-5 in 1 year, and just staked a claim as an early leader in the G5 playoff race. We could do a lot worse than Charles Huff. Please no. We don’t need that
This is basically all accurate, with one caveat... he was recruiting Jerrion Ealy hard too at the same time. I believe he thought he had Emery (he probably ignorantly discounted the LSU factor), but he did have a backup plan. It just didn't pan out because they were absolutely not going to let us pull a Prep guy they wanted no matter how much cash/hookers/blow it took. I'm sure that's a lesson he still carries with him today.I still haven't forgiven Huff for going all-in on 5 star John Emery from Destrehan, LA (#11 overall recruit in the country) without any semblance of a back-up plan in the class of 2019 recruiting cycle. Anyone that has followed recruiting for years knew that kid was eventually picking LSU. Huff & the rock-kicker/sand-pounder let Emery play his games with us & end up with JUCO Kareem Walker that never played a meaningful snap at MSU while Huff bails for Bama with Saban.
I can't disagree, but it is something about him that I don't really care for, not saying I would be mad IF he was our HC. Maybe it's how he handled his dismissal at Marshall and how he left Msu to go to Bama and started recruiting a few players on our team to go with him.Dude won 10 games at Marshall, took Southern Miss from 1-11 to 7-5 in 1 year, and just staked a claim as an early leader in the G5 playoff race. There is some basis in truth in your comments, but Jerrion Ealy was not going to be anybody's back-up plan & there was a significant risk of Ealy playing baseball out of high school. This is basically all accurate, with one caveat... he was recruiting Jerrion Ealy hard too at the same time. In general, or compared to what we have? Please no. We don’t need that
And what's hilarious is you know if Golding lays an egg this fall Huff would be all over trying to get that job.Huff just trolled Mullen and Ole Miss within the same week. I'm beginning to like what I see...
At the plantation??? Never happen... ******And what's hilarious is you know if Golding lays an egg this fall Huff would be all over trying to get that job.
Wait for post Minnesota game.Dude won 10 games at Marshall, took Southern Miss from 1-11 to 7-5 in 1 year, and just staked a claim as an early leader in the G5 playoff race. We could do a lot worse than Charles Huff.
Is the glass half full or half empty? When did we all get so 17ing content with mediocre? “We could do worse” is as much a msu comment. We could do a lot better. And we should expect that. Too much money floating around and donated to not demand better.
We deserve much more than what we’re being given

He can definitely coach.
That'll never happen. Ole times there are not forgotten....And what's hilarious is you know if Golding lays an egg this fall Huff would be all over trying to get that job.
We're not doing better now. That's the whole point. When did we all get so 17ing content with mediocre? “We could do worse” is as much a msu comment. We could do a lot better. And we should expect that. Too much money floating around and donated to not demand better.

Yeah. Let's just stick with what we have going on right now. Please no. We don’t need that
If you're mad about that then you can't want Mullen here. Huff saw the writing on the wall with Moorhead.I can't disagree, but it is something about him that I don't really care for, not saying I would be mad IF he was our HC. So he can only go from terrible to good? He can’t go from good to just as good?I may end up being completely wrong, but I suspect he’s not a guy who can build a program and sustain it.
Time will tell.
He knows how to take the reservation... He just doesn't know how to hooold the reservation. So he can only go from terrible to good? He can’t go from good to just as good?

He actually saw the writing on the wall that what working for Nick Saban can do for one’s career. If you're mad about that then you can't want Mullen here. Huff saw the writing on the wall with Moorhead.
Whom do we hire if that actually played out? He'd need to have the same offense as Lebs, and like Arnett enough to keep him as DC. There aren't many of those guys just laying around. Keeping Lebs sounds more and more likely regardless of 6+ wins.If we fire Lebby and hire another coach, it needs to be a slam dunk. There's no way we need another 4-year experiment, only to do the same thing all over again.
Yeah, but what is the glass half full of? Sometimes at MSU, I feel like it's half full of horse piss.Is the glass half full or half empty?
We could do worse = we’re looking at the top.
we could do better = we’re looking at the bottom.
Perspective.
