  • Kamario is unreal.
  • Fluff is ok. I like Gayten more. He's more dynamic. Fluff will be better as games wear on because he runs like a bull.
  • Kamario threw that 2nd half TD flat footed - didn't even step into it and it still went 60+ yards. He might have the strongest arm in the country - NFL included.
  • I wanted to see a little more out of the defense. Wanted to see more negative plays. Nothing truly to complain about defensively but it wasn't as dominating as I would have liked.
  • After watching highlights on Twitter, had no idea JJ Hill is the brother of Daniel Hill @ Bama. JJ went to Tupelo and Daniel went to Meridian.
  • Crowd was decent considering opponent and temp. Atmosphere was top shelf.

K1 is appointment TV. He's only going to get better. Probably could have had a couple picks last night but this kid is learning on the fly at an incredible pace. He has amazing talent.....I'd watch him even if he wasn't on our team. He's going to make mistakes and have some bad games but the ceiling is off the charts with this kid.

1. Needs to work on that out route & touch passes. Much more accurate on intermediate passes. But a good cb would have had 2 pick 6’s.
2. agree. Didn’t do much last night. Part due to lack of push from OL until their dl was gassed.
3. Agree his arm is as strong as anyone’s.

I’ll add we absolutely have to keep KT1 healthy at all costs.

Kamario's touch on the ball and accuracy both seemed MUCH better. OL seemed better too. Both of those were big if's for me going into the season. Now if Lebby can avoid brain farts when the game is on the line maybe we can avoid more embarrassment like the last 2 seasons

  • Kamario IS unreal.
  • Fluff is an excellent blocker, hard to take down, but I think JJ Hill has more upside. His balance, speed, and agility are better and he's 6' 220lbs. Don't know if JJ can block yet. Fluff is awesome and looks like an MMA heavyweight, but JJ is gonna be different. Gayten is slim and fast. We have a great problem at RB. There are 5 that could start.
  • In today's fast paced offenses, the defense automatically lines up in different formations. As the D plays more and has more film to study, we will see more of what we want. The corners and safeties are legit. Our LB's are more agile and faster than we've had in a long time. The D line needs Moye back. Their QB was clocked at 23+ mph. He was damn fast, so I thought we contained him well. 3rd downs and short yardage were dominated by the D. Keep in mind Arnett wil allow yards between the 20's to try to force turnovers and negative plays, but he's tough to get 7 on.
  • Anthony Evans is stronger and better at YAC than maybe any receiver in the last 20 years. Marquis Johnson could start for anybody. He's a plus athlete. Francisco is the bigger bodied guy with a huge catch radius. He's going to win the 50/50 balls. Zion is better than I expected. Younger guys are better than ever. WR room is loaded.

I saw some complaints on here about the performance. I dont know what some folks expect. It wasnt perfect but I was impressed. Yes more sacks would have been good. Yes I expected Fluff to get more big runs. Still 6 a carry aint bad. I know it was ULM but that is still FBS, right ?? I have seen us struggle plenty against these type teams. Kamario will only get better. The OL will only get better. The WR were stupid good and deep. If we stay healthy, as I said before, I could see 8 wins. 7 easily. 9 if we get very lucky somewhere.

Fans complaining after that game are crazy. Did they just now become MSU fans?

Yeah but he's 19 starting his 3rd game. I watched Arch Manning throw an atrocious pick in the end zone yesterday and he has a grandfather and two uncles that were NFL QB's.
I just don’t thing young manning has it like his uncles & grandfather did. Still a pretty good college qb (with a great supporting cast around him).

A couple of those passes were wrong routes by the WRs. Lebby & KT both were getting into their asses on the sideline. Same thing happened with Puckett in.

I've been telling yall about his arm talent. There's no better. He'll get better & better. Glad his ours.

As far as the D, Arnett showed nothing. Not much twist, or stunts, not much blitzing variations & a lot of different players played.

This team will get better. We have some serious athletes. Minnesota will tell us more, but I think, I hope our athleticism will be too much.

God forbid someone have an opinion other than what somebody else thinks! But the Dline showed me concern. We got very little push and I believe no sacks. This was against an inferior talent team. Maybe Arnett was not showing much.
A lot of positives to take from this game. K1 is absolutely a star in the making.
ULM’s coach definitely had a brain fart going for it on 4th down and at their own 35yrd line. Giving us a very short field to make a td.

We've got some good speed offense and a QB with loads of talent. We played pretty clean for the most part without many dumb mistakes. I like seeing a clean game in game 1 despite the inferior opponent. That's a positive.

2 sacks. 1 by Traveon Williams. He looks like a smaller Jeff Simmons. I've been waiting on him to blow up since he was a freshman. Thankfully Arnett is back and put him in attack mode instead of read and react. I think the d line was more focused on keeping containment and opening lanes for LB's. The QB was the fastest we will play against all year. He was clocked at over 23 mph. Still, I hope our line shows up in the stat line more.

Yeah, I’ve watched too much State football to buy the “we were playing vanilla” line.

I’m not worried about the defense as a whole, but we shouldn’t have needed exotic blitzes last night to come away with 3-5 sacks, and the fact that we rarely got any pressure whatsoever does not bode well.

That was worrisome, threw 2 directly to ULM last night in the first quarter, but dropped
Josh Allen does this a LOT as well. Much more than Taylor. It’s not something he has to “improve on” or “fix”… it happens with QBs at all levels in the normal flow of a football game.

I don’t buy the vanilla excuse either. What gives me comfort is that if we would’ve just had an OK defense last year we would have won several more games. I feel like our defense this year is at minimum OK maybe even decent. Not asking for great. Just not the worse defense in organized sports.

K1 got a helmet sticker on College Football Final last night. That was cool.

You can’t take too much away from beating ULM, but we were awfully impressive doing it. I couldn’t believe the yards we had at halftime…. And damn, almost 800 yards total??

Defense was solid only giving up 278 yards.

Very little to complain about last night because of the ease in which we dominated the game even with our 3rd and 4th stringers.

I think our defense was just playing straight up and not showing anything for our next opponent to have scouting. We also played lots of folks. I expect a different approach against the Gophers! We played this game like a spring game last night, we didn't show everything we got.

So pointing out early game and early season ???s is considered complaining by people who were sitting in the stands not just watching the QB, RBs, and WRs? Got it.

Enjoy watching the games without reading the board all game long. You will likely live longer and enjoy it more. I like to write what I observe with my eyes. For example, early
Run blocking wasn’t sufficient. After leaning on their defense for 25 minutes, the running game took off and exploded for high 300’s. I noted the pass rush still needs some work because I focused on watching both guys on each end getting bogged down. As someone on who mentioned. This very possible and even likely Arnett didn’t want to show too much for film.
I just don’t see that as complaining or being negative. I see it is simple observations at that specific time of the game. I would BET both Arnett and Lebby will point those same questions when they do the film study.
