No kidding… I actually watched a WWE event on tv the other day. The ENTIRE broadcast was one big commercial. Unwatchable. “WOW look at our fans in the Burger King fan zone! Slams him right into the McDonald’s turnbuckle! Let’s go to Jim at our Aflac announcers table to get his take over what happened in the Mercedes dressing room… ” all while using social media influencers.

I could absolutely see college sports increasingly become this. We already have companies paint on the infield at Dudy Noble.

I don’t know what is going to happen but do know a couple of things.
1. The current product is total garbage.
2. The current system is BAD for schools like ours and is not sustainable.
3. Only the big schools with many billionaires are able to win.
4. This is nothing but semi pro sports. These Players are not students.
5. If I wanted to watch pro football I will watch NFL.

My interest continues to diminish. Dont see that changing without an enforced set of rules that eliminates the ability for players to jump schools at a whim.

The enrollment cliff, reduced state funding, reduced giving, higher prices, and AI might make changes in college sports a moo point.

Which will mean less fan involvement, which will lead to corporate involvement pulling out, eventually, then it's dead. We've seen it at The Hump, empty seats during the week and half full on weekends because by all accounts on here those corporate people don't come on week nights and don't give out their tickets to people that will come. We're seeing it in DWS with pricing going up and stands emptying. The product on the field doesn't help but once they're gone are they going to come back?
