Personally, I love it. Not trolling. I think it's fun, I think it's good for the state, and It's a great natural rivalry.

I hate that the B1G schedule and whatever reasons cause this game to be the only P4 non-con matchup, but I love the game!

Playing Iowa State instead of rotating Home and Home against SEC/ACC Teams is a net loss, It is like betting a hundred bucks to win 10 , You are supposed to win and if You do almost every Year it lowers the strength of schedule and You get no real bump but if You lose it is a bad loss You carry around like herpes save the last few Years when ISU was pretty good. Plus You are literally giving Your in State competition it's biggest payday of the Year , That is Clown management allowing this series to even be a thought yet alone be the Yearly game it has been , Play once every 5 Years or so and call it a Day .

It's a p4 game that Iowa should win. If you look around the conference outside of Michigan and Ohio State, that's pretty much the same across the board. Wisky is going back to it next year, I guess it's similar to Washington with the apple cup, it is sad that the civil war between Oregon/Oregon State is no more. I wouldn't mind to see Iowa lineup against Notre Dame or Missouri early on, but it won't happen.

I want to see the hawks play different home and away matchups with other P4 teams. Paul Brown the owner and coach of the original Cleveland Browns always had his team play in white uniforms with brown helmets at home games so the fans could see all the visiting teams in their colorful jerseys.

Same here, tired of seeing puke red and mustard of ISU Clowns. The hawks will always schedule 2 lower level teams like NIU to beat, we hope. I think our fans should get to watch us play new teams like Mizzou, Okie St, texas tech, and a whole bunch of ACC, SEC, and Big 12 teams. As most others say, the hawks are almost always favored against ISU, they can play wide open which they have in the past because they have nothing to lose, and unfortunately many times KF's sphinxter tightens up in this game which makes it a bad loss.

I don’t think Nebraska has a P4 OOC opponent this year.

Texas Tech has a top 5 payroll.

I dont care and the hawks dont care, we play OSU all the time and we have beat them on a number of occasions. Money in the pocket doesnt mean you have a great team or great game
And you will ***** like crazy when we lose.

You think we are beating Ohio State this year? Julian Sayin throwing at 80% and with Jeremiah Smith and whatever other 1st round NFL receiver they now have flying around out there?

No I wont. I became a fan with the late '50s teams and all their greatness then had to live through the 20 year wasteland. I know historically Iowa wins about 5.5 out of every 10 games and since Fry got here it is more 6+ games out of every 10. KF gets his guys up for the upset.

Indiana, Nebraska, PSU, USC and technically Washington don't. I guess the point is, I'm ok with ISU because I think that team is going to flounder in the new era of NIL. With a 9 game conference schedule, it isn't necessary to schedule a big fish.

Missouri? No! They've weaseled out of games with us already.
South Carolina, Kentucky, Wake , Vandy , Florida State , ND , Clemson , NC , ect ect there are a lot of Home and Homes I would rather see in fertile recruiting grounds than having Iowa State on the Schedule and infusing big cash into Their Athletic department

Not driven by money either. So 8 times out of 10 they have their way with us

Sayin and Smith are gonna rape our defense
I wouldn't bet they will rape our D. The last two times we played it was '22 (Petras and Iowa had 6 turnovers) giving OSU a lot of short field, and '24 with Cade McNamara, a first year Tim Lester, with an elite D only holding them to 7 points at the half. WIth no help from the O, the D got tired in the 2nd half.

So.. ya, they hurt us the last two times but that was with some terrible offense.

I think the D will be able to hang on better than the last two matchups. Probably an L, but I can't imagine it will be a raping.

I don’t mind scheduling ISU
I do mind scheduling ISU every year

As mentioned, work in another opponent every other year from the B12 or ACC, e.g.

Also, would be preferable to make the Clones play at Kinnick two times for every game at Jack Trice.

Iowa is the superior program, the flagship University. Schedule accordingly.

I say boot anyone out of the fanbase if they're too afraid to lose to Iowa State.

If the series ended, Iowa would not schedule another P4 game. The Hawks would schedule another bottom feeder Group of Six or an FCS school.
Occasionally we'd get a game with a Boston College or a Pittsburgh, but nothing like what fans who want the ISU series dropped are hoping to see.

Not to mention all these "potential" series are just one-offs. You're lucky if you get a back to back anymore, and what good does it do you to play Notre Dame once and never schedule them again. Then play Bama once and never schedule them again....

What has it done for Wisconsin except expose where they're at on the totem poll?.....................

Look at all the super duper awesome non-conference matchups they've lost played over the past 15 years.

That sure as f***ing sh** has helped with their exposure and recruiting and putting guys in the NFL and building a national championship program hasn't it............🙃

F*** outta here for those of you that are tired of in-state rivalries simply because it upsets you to lose the game.

.People refuse to acknowledge that in 10 years, Iowa State and the Big 12 will no longer be considered top-tier college football. If that happens, the argument for preserving the series because Iowa is playing another “Power 4” opponent disappears.

At that point, scheduling a home-and-away with Iowa State could be viewed no differently than doing the same with UNI or a MAC program.

This guy gets it. And for this reason, I like the game. Heck, I have always enjoyed this game. I freaking hate losing to them but still enjoy the build up to the game and the game itself. What I do get tired of is pointless blowouts. Last week, I get. It’s good to get the warmup game. Next week though? freaking yawn which is exactly what you would get this week if we dropped isu.

Probably Mountain West, since NIU is now in the Mountain West. Some team we would never travel to play at their place.

I have long believed the game should be played once every three years. That way it keeps the rivalry alive and fresh, and most important, it gives Iowa the chance to play new teams. Bring in Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Virginia, Duke, North Carolina . . . There are so many teams that, in well over a century of Iowa football, the Hawkeyes have seldom, if ever, played. And they'd make good road trips too. Every year Iowa plays ISU, they're doing them a favor. Once in three years is enough generosity. Personally, I'd love to see some new teams visiting Kinnick Stadium in the nonconference schedule.

Lolol. In how many games and how long ago? Air Force, Princeton, Carlisle, Cornell? What were those 100 years ago? Is that Carlisle Indian school where Jim Thorpe played? Did you actually read what I posted? "In the B1G"? You know teams that play OSU at least fairly frequently in the modern era of football. Hmmm.. Didn't see ANY B1G schools on your list. Shocking...

Maybe the B1G isn't as good as we think it is.
