Here's why LSU (and at least three others) will beat Ole Miss

The Ole Miss defense is just not good.

Opponents (Louisville and Charlotte) have had ten second half drives on the Ole Miss defense. They have scored on nine. Ole Miss can't stop anyone. Chambliss is obviously talented and they have some weapons on offense, but that defense is going to give up a ton of yards and points this year.

Could be a 24-17 LSU lead at halftime that turns into a 52-27 blowout.

If they lose this weekend - the self-doubt will start to enter their souls.

I think OM pretty much has to win tomorrow to keep any playoff hopes alive. They’ve still gotta travel to Austin, Norman, Gainesville. Still have to play Georgia. Still have to play us and Mizzou who are both good enough on offense to score a bunch on them.

I stand by my prediction that the Egg Bowl is 7-4 vs 7-4.

Seems ole Pistol Pete is pulling a Zac Arnett. Trying to change stuff up and ignoring his own strength.
As some observant and logical people (me) have been saying for months... golding is just a prototypical defensive coordinator. A good one, but that should have been his ceiling. Those guys thrive on chaos, creating disorganization and confusion, and they typically win because they have better athletes, not out coaching anyone. He's not smart and organized enough to be a head coach. Some defensive coaches are (Saban, Kirby, etc.) but pete is not one of those. He's closer to Orgeron than he is to Saban. Meaning, he can recruit (with the right 'network' supporting him) well enough to sign some good players. He just doesn't know what to do with them after that. He's like the anti-Mullen.

And they may win this game tomorrow because he still has trinny and lacy, and some other Lane leftovers. They're still athletic enough. But if it comes down to coaching in the end... Lane vs. pete... LOL. Whether it's Saturday or not, this season will eventually show the cracks in his coaching, and will be a harbinger of things to come for the rebs.
