I don't think he can afford to shut it down if he wants to be drafted highly. He has to go out there against quality teams and show he can be effective or else scouts are always going to worry about his lingering injuries.

Just like last year, DS is held on every damn play. Refs just figure they cannot call it so often I guess.

Yes. The blocker simply has to let him take himself so far upfield, he takes himself out of the play if the QB steps up at all.
