As bad as Cohen is, and he's bad, Finebaum is a total idiot and has no clue about athletics. He's a Jerry Springer with less hair.

I am too. I have defended him a lot as understood the things he wanted to do, but damn, his execution was horrific.
Some people are administrators, some are coaches. One of those tends to have much bigger egos and think they can do the job of the other.
I said back then that UF and AU got their coach hires swapped. Actually......Florida should have hired Lane.
Auburn's hiring him and paying him what they did is one of the strangest (and dumbest) hires I've ever seen .
I had two classes with him at State and he was the dumbest person in both classes and these were writing class and literature. I knew when he was first hired as the baseball coach, baseball was in trouble, but when he was hired as AD, I knew that the whole department was 17-ed.

His abilities as an AD are certainly suspect, but I can't question his abilities as a baseball coach. Our baseball program was a complete and total farce when he tookover after Polk II. I think Cohen has to get some credit for where our baseball program is right now. Cohen is smart enough to be a good baseball coach, but not smart of enough realize that is what he should have stayed.

Yeah, I'll say so, since he recruited the whole team completely out of the bomb site your hero Polk left. And our talent wasn't nearly as good as some of our peers at the time (Vandy, Florida, Arkansas, etc), he had to totally start from the bottom and coach them up

John Cohen wasn't qualified to run a G5 program when we hired him and Auburn was dumb enough to take him. Thank god everyday for the idiots on the plains. The guy literally sat in on a football hire one time. That's it.
